Session II: The Wolf

General Summary

Might Be Russian

The story starts with Konstantin, leaning over books in his personal flat, looking for an answer to the runes and magic he has been a witness to. According to his research, the writing, while slavic, is not necessarily Russian. The runes are a merge of Tzimisce and Tremere magic, created by an old Kindred. With his new information, Konstantin is not sure how to proceed. He decides he needs to investigate the Tzmisce at large to be able to understand what kind of spell was written in the metal because "a spell that will cause harm" just won't cut it in front of The Court, or Ava.

A Beautiful Summer(s) Is Calling

On the other side of London, Ava Brooks is engaged in a call with Theodora Summers. The two know each other and have a complicated, but convenient relationship. Ava elects to not discuss the elephant in the room: Theodora being Caitiff. She proceeds with her questioning and finds out two important details: Theodora does not remember gifting Vivian the bracelet and is not often visited by Kindred patrons. From the list of immortal patrons who stopped by in the past month, she can only pinpoint the Keeper of the Elysium and someone else who she cannot exactly remember to be able to describe them. Ava decides to get a bit more information from her about who purchased what and requests her ledger. Afterwards the call is ended.

A Scholar Answers

Ava decides to get in contact with Konstantin, to share their findings. While he shares his discoveries, Ava gets frustrated with the lack of progress in the case and the fact that Konstantin seems to be using her connections and status to get his way under the mask of helping her. They have a one-sided, fiery conversation which finishes with her suddenly ending the call and deciding to take matters in her own hands. She shifts into a wolf and runs to investigate the runes herself, by getting into contact with one Ambrose Clemens, a helpful Setite.

Snake In the Grass

She gets there first and has a long conversation with the man, during which he tries to get whatever information he can from her, while she refuses to share any important details. Ava leaves the bookshop in a flurry when Konstantin also shows up. They have another fight, due to believing the other already gave Ambrose the information while neither actually shared anything. After her departure, Ambrose gives Konstantin the books Ava was looking for.   While Ambrose and Konstantin share some knowledge and love for rare books, Ava makes her way to a nearby park to find a Corvin that might be able to locate the Nosferatu Harpy for her for the purpose of ensuring an invitation to Elysium for Konstantin. She is introduced to Cillian, after providing a squirrel for him as proof of worthiness, and he takes her to Penelope. After a short conversation, Penelope agrees to get an invitation for Ava, if she investigates something for her in return. Of course, she is not pleased when she finds out who will be the owner of the invitation.   The story for the evening ends with Konstantin and Ava sharing their progress again, with the deputy bragging about getting a Tremere to Elysium and Konstantin sharing the books he received from Ambrose.
