Black Razor and out Played 10/29/22 Report
General Summary
Rhys tried to help Savane across a 10' pit of water, fell, and threw her toward dry land so that she wouldn't get wet. where she caught her foot on an immovable rod, failed to right herself, getting wet anyway, and hitting her head on the ledge, briefly falling unconscious. Poppy helped pull Savane out of the water, and Rhys used some of his own healing ability to bring his wife back around. Vasta was a good girl and constrained her laughter.
Next the group came to a hallway with strange copper colored plating on the walls. Vasta searched for traps, didn't find any, and then asked Rhys if he'd like to try. He gestured to the hallway and sarcastically said "Vasta, I think I found a trap!". After Vasta gave Rhys the finger, they determined that the hallway heated metal. Everyone stripped down and stowed their metal objects in their various extra dimensional spaces. Poppy forgot a hairpin, and decided to hoof it to the other side to try to get it off. Here the group was ambushed by a passel of ghouls which they fought sans armor.
Next came the frictionless hallway, which the group managed to get through mostly unscathed this time. Following was the inverted ziggurat, filled with many terrariums and fish tanks containing scorpions and crayfish of enormous size. In the bottom center were three manticores. The group gave their rations to the animals and were attacked by the manticores. Rhys Misty Stepped down to fight them, Vasta gracefully cleared the space by balancing on the edges of the tanks. Once the manticores were dead, they were fed to the animals. In the bottom, Vasta found a trap but failed to disarm it, and the tanks shattered, flooding the area. Rhys swam down to the door and forced it open, only to find himself trapped alone in a room with an Oni. He tried to charm his way out of it, and tried Sudden Transposition with one of the crayfish in the other room but the spell failed. At this point the Oni asked if he could be interesting.
Yes, Rhys could be interesting. He then seduced the Oni. Meanwhile, the rest of the party swam down and forced the door open only to walk into a now female Rhys giving the Oni a tit-job. Rhys managed to talk the Oni into letting them all go once he was properly satisfied, and so it was. However, the group knew Black Razor was hidden here. Once Rhys was reequipped, he informed the Oni of this and once again tried diplomacy over fighting, to no avail. The group knocked out the Oni, took his cash. a potion and a scroll but left everything else save Black Razor, which was found under the couch.
With everything they came for, they intended to leave. This meant going back across the frictionless hallway, of which Rhys failed repeatedly. They instead chose to rest on this side... somewhere. Poppy then sat down and leaned against the wall, falling through it, discovering a forgotten safe place to rest. Once rested, the party debated leaving or looking behind the last door. They decided to just look in to sate their curiosity, but this proved to not be enough. The room was too weird, containing a floating river and a bunch of kayaks but no oars. Poppy sent her familiar into the water to see what would happen, and it returned a few moments later with news that it was a big loop with a room tucked away inside. And so, the party climbed into two kayaks with immovable rods as emergency brakes and went into the water too. They got out in the aforementioned room and were ambushed by Sir Bluto and his men. Knowing the man to be wanted in Greycott, they intended to capture him. Sir Bluto has other ideas and poisoned himself when it was clear he would not win. Sir Bluto had a key leading to a secret hallway that allowed them access to the room without the river ride. With nothing left to explore, the group decided it was time to leave. Rhys fell into the razorblades in the frictionless hallway yet again before coming up with a smarter way to do things.
Almost to the exit, a wall of force erupted blocking the way out and the group heard the wizard's voice and were told they would be escorted by Nox and Nyx to become new guardians of the place since they had done so much damage. Rhys made a quip about knocking heads and nixing nut sacks, and they engaged the two efreeti. The group should have rested after fighting Sir Bluto, and the efreeti almost proved to be too much. Black Razor wanted to be wielded, and Poppy asked Rhys to hand it over, which he did. Poppy became a frontline fighter, the sword wanted to feed. This was very disturbing to everyone. After the fight, the Sphynx took down the wall of force, learned what hugging was, and the group hightailed it out of there. Rhys used the Sending Stone with "Mommy come get us Mommy come get us Mommy come get us". The group got back to town as fast as they could, with royal wizards waiting for them. The wizards had to wait longer as Savane had a blanket to buy. Upon returning home, the group was greeted with dire news: the King was missing
