Session 2: The Search for Floon Report

General Summary

We began in a dark and gloomy alleyway where rather unusual group of individuals standing dumbfounded by the sudden disappearance of The Old Xoblob Shop. Taking stock of their surroundings they notice a conspicuous light glimmering at the end of the alleyway. By this light they found the warehouse of notorious smuggling operation, the Tiger Snakes. Sounds of a fight emanated from within and closer inspection revealed a lone drow figure cornered by a very angry and scared owlbear covered in blood-sucking stirges.   Investigation revealed that a battle had ensued and that in the process, several crates and cages were busted open releasing the Owlbear and stirges. About a dozen dead bodies lay strewn about the warehouse. The heroes battled the stirges, rescuing the owlbear from their deadly snoots (and acquiring one of said snoots in the process). While the drow and Rill attempted to usher the wild owlbear out the warehouse door, Kasdeja tried to tame the beast and Tai Sen tried to give it a hug. Panteleimon boldly attempted to heal the owlbear, enduring a deadly attack in the process. Luckily Tai Sen was able to rescue Panteleimon from the brink of death. The City watch arrived to find our heroes surrounded by dead bodies. Kasdeja and Sneak both leaning over them with their hands in their pockets. Sneak managed to play it off as an attempt to aid but Kasdeja’s attempt to do the same was less than convincing. Captain Hestia __ was suspicious. Luckily Panteleimon explained the situation and convinced the city guard that they were not suspects. The city watch carefully captured the owlbear in order to relocate him to his natural habitat and set up a crime scene at the warehouse. Our heroes and the drow figure reconvened outside.   The drow turned out to be Raineer Newfanger, the estranged son of former Lord Governor Goggle Fewfanger, the former Governor of Xandarai who was ousted when Emporer Trumpet was overthrown. Raineer explained that he, along with his friends Floon, Obaya, and Kid, were kidnapped by the Tiger Snakes, who suspected that Raineer might know something about rumors that his father embezzled thousands of gold and hid it in the city. Unfortunately, the Tiger Snakes were not the only ones who had heard that rumor! Not long after the Tiger Snakes returned to their warehouse with their captives, they were set upon by the Rathanax Guild. The Rathanax guild killed the Tiger Snakes snatched up Floon, mistaking him for Raineer, and left a trail of bodies and broken cages behind them.   Rill searched the street and was able to pick up the trail of the Rathanax Guild, leading straight to the sewers.
