  The middle child of the family, the younger twin. Karl is very similar to his brother Nikolai Wachter Jr but is more hotheaded and physically imposing. Eager to prove himself, any fight is an excuse to prove his might.
• Kasimir Velikov
  The leader of the remnants of the Dusk Elves. He seeks to right a great evil.
• Luvash
  The often brutish leader of the Vistani camp near Vallaki, who cares deeply for his daughter Arabelle.
• Baroness Lydia Petrovna
  The wife of Vargas Vallakovich. She seems to have a nervous tick to her, but is otherwise unremarkable.

  The eldest son and heir to the family; he is fond of drink, gambling and wooing the women of the Town of Vallaki.

  The dusk elf chamberlain of Castle Ravenloft, who has served Strahd’s family faithfully for centuries.

  Strahd von Zarovich, who's original sin doomed the Valley of Barovia to eternal suffering under his rule, having the life sucked out of its denizens slowly and cruelly.
• Urwin Martikov
  Urwin runs the Blue Water Inn, the principal watering hole of Vallaki and one of the only hospitable places in that town.
• Baron Vargas Vallakovich
  The Burgomaster of Vallaki and the man responsible for "Keeping the Devil out of Vallaki." Known for regularly throwing frivolous festivals to keep the town's appearances and spirits up.

  The self-appointed “money-man” about Vallakai, being a man of considerable inherited wealth. He owns leases on several businesses about the city, and also handles taxes for some.
• Baronet Victor Vallakovich
  A withdrawn, moody young man who couldn’t care less for his political responsibilities.
