(A1:S4) "Are you not entertained?!"

General Summary

Alistair Mattix, Professor of Esoteric Knowledge in Enoch and Overseer of The Spire Athenaeum, paced nervously infront of his office window. He had been monitoring cult activities in The Lawless Counties for the past year, and unfortunately they haven't seemed to stop. The true nature of the beast made itself clear about two days ago when a Dwarf cleric asked for a meeting with him. Apparently, his companions and him were traveling and happened to stop in the small town of Zanal. Alistair sighed and went to his desk, thumbing through the book he showed the dwarf. He stopped on the shortest entry: The Void Cult. His colleagues had no idea what to make of it and neither did he. It was an ancient cult, that he knew for sure. While this sect is definitely new and more mobile, older archives detail followers of this... Void, whatever that was being active even on the main continent. This troubled him greatly, and with the Ruskan Empire being so goddamn paranoid of magic, it'll take longer than he wanted to send an invite to the other wizards. The Citrix Maledictrix is on the move, and Alistair will not let it be lost to darkness again. And to make matters worse, some idiots almost set fire to his library. That kind of damage can't be fixed with donations...     In a tragic turn of events, the party seemingly are betrayed by The Wanderer. Or, so it seems because Zinjor did not tell the party that this might've been The Wanderer's plan all along. Our 4 heroes are locked in a cage and transported to the massive city of Stonewatch. In deep Dogs of War territory, our heroes are sentenced to "entertainment death" and thrust into a gladiatorial arena. Stripped of their weapons and facing off against a miriad of creatures and prisoners, will our heroes survive? What is the Wanderer's plan? Can our heroes find allies in one of the three houses that control the city of Stonewatch?     --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------   A soft rap echoed through the silent study. Alistair Mattix looks up from his reading, confused as to why there is a knock on the door.     "I'm sorry... Nobody should've let you up here. The lobby needs some repairs." He said, waving his hand to open the door.   A well dressed man with a dark orange complexion enters the study and approaches the desk. "I am only a benefactor. I bring gifts." he shakes a purple pouch filled with coins and places it on Alistair's desk.   Alistair smiles, relaxing a bit. "I appreciate it. You must have heard about the fire. I assure you these funds will go towards repairing the lobby, along with other updates to the building. May I ask your name sir?"   The man smiles mischeviously, which goes over Alistair's head. "I'm Mayor Zakirov. You can write that down on the acknowledgement. Enjoy..." and before Alistair can say another word, Mayor Zakirov walks briskly out the door.     "That was odd..." Alistair says, opening the pouch of coins. 5,000 gold pieces, and one silver piece. Alistair absentmindedly places the silver in his own pocket, thinking that Mayor Zakirov must have forgotten about the silver piece...
