Rising Koi Saga: Chapter 25 Report

General Summary

With one of their number now taken prisoner by the Kuromizu Clan Thugs that guard the barn that the Rising Koi were attempting to infiltrate– the time for Stealth ended, giving way for decisive action while the Thugs bickered over what to do with their new captive. Xiyan was the first to strike, using the element of surprise as they sprung from the storage room within the barn. As conflict erupted beyond the pen Yengandor found himself locked in, he mounted his cow roommate and rode her into battle… though this didn’t go as well as he may have liked. Still, bodies started to pile up as Apollo and Daiono cleaned house… with a body count of at least 10, and others fled as they realized that this sudden show of force was more than they had bargained for.   In less than a minute, the Rising Koi secured the location and located their friend who was being nursed back to health from the brink of death by a middle-aged man who also took their distraction as a chance to flee before things got worse for him. But they knew they couldn’t linger, for they were warned that Nikyua The Butcher stalked the countryside as well– and the noise they made would likely draw his attention sooner rather than later. Fortunately, they were quick enough in their extraction of Arata so as to not find out just how terrifying a monster The Butcher could be if you caught his eye. Their next step was to find shelter where they would be secure, and they decided on the safest place they could think of out in this Countryside: The Akamori Homestead.   Their mission provided one final surprise on their march to safety: A small silhouette of a goblin, holding a glinting knife in the moonlight. Xiyan recognized her former knife. Their Goblin friend, Meh, had sought them out– though he brought dire news: The Goblin Tribes were united into a Host, seeking vengeance for all of the local human population’s transgressions against them– including the slaughter of one of their gods, forcing them to march under the banner of an all too familiar name at this point: Akkoro.   To come to warn them, Meh was now a traitor to his kind. And so the Party scooped him up to bring back to the Homestead with them, with hopes that they could convince the Akamori Family to intervene on behalf of the Countrymen before the slaughter…
