Session 2 Report

General Summary

Opening Scene: Sheriff’s Office The session will begin with the Coterie at the Sheriff’s Office where the Prince was about to ask the Coterie to help her with another task. Before the Prince continues, Douglas will just be arriving with information he learned while he was out and about. She would like the Coterie to investigate a mysterious shipment that is arriving via Port Maxwell. They are worried about this shipment because even the Kindred with the most influence over the Port, haven’t been able to figure out what it is or who it is for. Someone has gone to great lengths to obscure it’s arrival into Crescent City, which means it can’t be anything good. The Coterie will be able to rest for the rest of tonight, and will have tomorrow night to do any prep. But the shipment is arriving around the time the Coterie would be waking up the following night. So they will have to get up and head directly there if they hope to learn anything.

The Prince gave the Coterie the basic details of the mission such as:

   

1. Jax received a Critical Success on A Taste of Blood and learned Omar is 8th Generation with 6 Blood Potency and has Diablerized.
2. A couple of the wealthiest families have art and other such valuables arriving the same night as the mysterious shipment.
3. The Princess Mary is the cargo ship that the shipment is coming in on.
4. The Container Number containing the shipment is 3296A.

Background and Advantage Uses:

The Coterie will had very limited time to gather information via their Influences, contacts, etc. before the shipment arrives in Port Maxwell. They had 1 night of prep time and had to immediately go to the port the next night.

1. Influences were unable to assist with the investigation.
2. Saoirse had her Criminal Contact get a buoy to mark the location if they throw the cargo overboard.
3. Douglas is having his Retainer Carter drive around or at least be at the Port to act as a getaway car if they need it.
4. Saoirse forged 2 weak identities to use to cover them as dockworkers by the name of Petra and Gregory.
5. Quinton has his Retainer Rex McCray get a Subpoena on the ships that were coming into port.

Visiting Marcus:

1. Jax updated Marcus on the Baron Omar situation and asked if Marcus has been working on any new projects.
2. Marcus informed Jax of the Werewolf Research and asked for his Coterie to help find the kid.
3. Marcus offered a Major Boon if they manage to find the kid and bring him in or kill the kid.

Visiting The Captain:

1. The Captain gave the Coterie permission to use the Row Boat to board the cargo ship and mentioned there was a patient who believed he was a boat.
2. The Boarding Party dressed up as Pirates.
3. Quinton took Boat Man and flesh crafted him to the bottom of the row boat in the shape of a swan, so that the patient’s feet could kick and his arms could work to swim and help them propel the boat. Boatman will allow the boat to move faster.
4. They returned to the Haven and finalized their plan with Saoirse and Jax.

Prelaunch Prep:

1. Quinton used Flesh Crafting to increase his strength in exchange for Stamina, and to form one of his hands into a hook.
2. Douglas set his Retainer up as a getaway car.
3. Saoirse finished the 2 Masks.

Investigating the Mysterious Delivery:

1. The party split into 2 teams. The Boarding Party consisted of Quinton, Tala, and Douglas. The Port Party consisted of Jax and Saoirse.
2. The Port Party got into position first and saw that there were roughly 4 FBI Agents waiting at the dock the ship was supposed to be arriving at.
3. When the Cargo ship was entering the port and preparing to dock, the Caravan of FBI Agents pulled in. The caravan pulled into the Port and lined up to collect the shipment. There was a cargo truck like a U-Haul van, but much more secure. Protecting it was two black SUVs with black tinted windows and such things and two 4-door sedans/normal cars with similar tinting and such.
4. The people from the cargo truck were dressed in black coveralls and gloves. The people from the passenger seats of the regular cars got out and were dressed in suits and were clearly Feds. The two in suits immediately began to patrol and secure the immediate area, while the two from the van prepared to oversee the cranes unloading the cargo, and the loading of it into their van.
5. Jax knew that an escort like this is assembled for highly valuable targets and usually consists of a couple of teams of highly trained agents. He heard through his Touchstone within the FBI that they have added a lot to their arsenal since Jax left. Technical things like Drones and improved night vision which Jax could assume the escort may be equipped with this as well. Jax also knew that caravans of strategic importance usually have under cover reinforcements along the route back to wherever they came from that can jump in to help them if anything goes wrong while they are heading back.
6. Jax called Tala and used the Ravnos Clan Merit to talk in code while warning the entire coterie about the FBI but they chose to continue with the plan.
7. Saoirse received a Messy Critical on a roll and received the Dominance Compulsion.
8. The Boarding Party used Boat Man to row out to the cargo ship.
9. Quinton, Douglas, and Tala went on the man boat to board the cargo ship.
10.  When the team got to the bottom of the ladder to get on the ship, Quinton used Premonition which he saw:
“He was in the center of the port on Man boat with a circle of fog encircling the port. He then saw the Lady in Red walk out onto the water in front of him and out of the fog. The Fog then began to turn into flames until he was encircled in flames and then woke up which caused Quinton to scream "Fuck the Fog" which caused the guards on the boat to set off the alarm.”
11. During this premonition, Tala used Subsume the Spirit and sent her spiders onto the cargo ship to investigate and then her body collapsed into the small boat.
12. Jax received a Messy Critical on perception which he saw the Boarding Party arriving at the cargo ship, and heard the yelling coming from Quinton and the alarms that the cargo ship set off, and received the Tremere Compulsion of Perfectionist, which represents how the entire plan was falling apart and he was not happy about it.
13. Saoirse threw Jax into the water as a reaction to her Compulsion, and they both swam down deep to avoid detection.
14. The FBI teams in the SUV’s piled out at the sound of the alarm and began securing the area, along with a couple of drones. Meanwhile the guards on the boat were also mustering.
15. Quinton recovered from the Premonition and then boarded the ship with Unseen Passage active, but he rolled a bestial failure on the roll to compete against a Nullifier, which caused his Obfuscate to fail. 4 Guards pointed their gun at Quinton and told him to Freeze.
16. Quinton needs a negative effect for his Bestial Failure when resisting the Nullifier.
17. Jax still has the Tremere Compulsion active.
18. Saoirse's compulsion was resolved.

Closing Scene:

The session ended with Quinton on the cargo ship being told to freeze, Douglas and Tala in the man boat, and Saoirse and Jax swimming into the ocean. The cargo ship was continuing it’s docking procedures even as the FBI Agents were swarming the port and the ship.
