Episode 1: What could go wrong?

General Summary

Kythorn 8th, 1486 DR
The party, drinking ale at Stonehill Inn, mused about what their next steps should be. After some banter back & forth, they decided a group of adventurers need equipment before "Adventuring". Spending a good deal of the afternoon gathering gear, the group became familiar with the lay of Phandalin and her peoples. A couple trips to the Lionshield Coster and even more to Barthen's Provisions and the group has acquired gear to get them thru at least the beginning of their adventures.
  Mirater made acquaintance with the smithy, with whom he hit it right off with. The smithy fixed him right up with new shoes, telling him to come back any time they give him trouble.
  Qunik & Maelyn "acquired" an orange tabby cat, which became quite the center of the two's interactions. Unfortunately for Maelyn, the cat was less than receptive to her and much preferred Quink's company.
  The group made their acquaintance with the Townmaster, Sildar Hallwinter. Looking for odd jobs and the such, Merdon and Maelyn found that Sildar had three tasks he needed completed.

    • Go to Umbrage Hill and get Adabra Gwynn back to town.
    • Two dwarven prospectors are a half-days travel to the southwest are looking for treasure and relics. Get a notice to them about the dragon and return with the notice, having their signatures at the bottom to confirm receipt.
    • A group of rock gnomes live to the east/southeast of Phandalin. They specialize in tinkering and might have some items that could be of use should the dragon harry the town. See what they might have; if they have something, bring it back and if I think it could be of use, I'll buy it from you.

  With some final avenues that could lead to their own Acquisitions Inc franchise, the group, set for the evening, headed back to Stonehill Inn where Merdon had covered the groups lodging and board. With full bellies and a cool trough of water for Quink to sleep in, the group turned in for the night.
  Kythorn 9th, 1486; Morning
In the morning, Quink, having concerns for some of the local livestock, checked in on the horses to ensure they are not mistreated, which they are not. Satisfied that the wildlife are doing well, Quink rejoined the group for breakfast. Again, bellies full from a hearty breakfast and with a dozen breakfast buiscuits & honey in Quink's posession, the group set forth to Umbrage Hill.
  Mid-morning...
Upon nearing Umbrage Hill and Adabra’s Wondrous Oils & Elixirs, the group found the old windmill, turned home/business, beset upon by a Manticore. With a plea for assistance from Adabra, the group quickly dispatched the beast. Quink & Adabra using the moment to harvest a few quills from the tail and one or two organs, Merdon able to quikly carve off head of the manticore, they were immediately besiged by Cryovain, the white dragon rumored to be in the region. No longer just a rumor, Mirater, with quick action, grabbed Adabra and headed straight for town, while the remainder of the group staved off the dragon.
  Quink, viewing dragons as holy creatures, being the pinacle of her race, knelt before Cryovain, while Merdon and Maelyn stood nearly opposite her, prepared to do battle. Surprised by what appeared to be a new unexpected servant (Quink), Cryovain made quick use of it's icy breath to stave off Maelyn & Merdon, grabbing the manticore's corpse and flying away with it.
  Once the area was clear, Mirater, Adabra & the rest of the group made way back to her home in the windmill. Finding that there was no way the group would let her remain in her home, due to the dragon and request from Sildar, Adabra packed a small night bag and gave the group two healing potions. Quink, astouned by the herbs, polticies and other apothical items, purchased some lichen, mushrooms and bloomshade; enough to make two healing potions (given enough time).
  Both Adabra & the group being set, they parted ways. We leave our adventure with Adabra headed to town, huffing under her breath that she'd give Sildar a piece of her mind, and the group gathering their breath, ready to find the dwarf prospectors in the southwest.

Notes

Upon defeating the Manticore and talking with Adabra; Qunik acquired enough Bloomshade to make two healing potions.
