Wouldn't you like to be a LFER too? Part 1

General Summary

Setting: New York City, June 15th, 2072   The city of New York is still recovering from the LFER (Leaders of the Free Energy Resistance) ‘attack’ on the city in 2071. That ‘cell’ was ‘excommunicated’ from the other cells of the LFER as being TOO aggressive and causing more harm than good.   Life in the city is still functioning in ways that it used to before the Vanishing Wars of years past and the draconian policies of the IERA (International Energy Regulation Agency). Businesses change hands and new ones start and old ones fail. Everyone is just trying to survive and prosper in the city. Everyone deals with the rolling brownouts, as it is a scheduled pattern. Every residence gets enough energy to keep the essentials going in their homes. Businesses are pro-rated on when they are most active. The criminal element is still thriving.   In Spanish Harlem, Nightwing learns of a new drug being produced that appears to change people. He begins looking into the distribution network. He is able to track it down to an area just outside Spanish Harlem and is on his way there.   Dr. Moses and Klara were walking down the street talking when they saw the sign for a ‘bar’ that said ‘Under New Management’ on the door. The bar’s name is “For What Ailes You”. So, they decided to give it a try.   Bronson Studdard and his mother were down in NYC. Babs was down looking for a new employment opportunity. Babs and Burley were asleep in their motel room while Bronson and Mama went out walking. They decided to stop by a bar not far from the motel.   Inside the bar, Bronson and Mama take a seat at the table near the stage. Sitting at the bar, Klara and Dr. Moses were sitting and discussing how things are going for them in the city. The overall sound level in the bar wasn’t so loud that you had to yell to be heard, but it was loud enough that you could have somewhat private conversations.   The bar tender was a gentleman in his mid-50’s. He is a tall, slender gentleman with silver hair, blue eyes and a short well-trimmed silver beard. He was efficiently pouring drinks for those at the bar, and for the waitress, a 5’2” tall female with medium length hair that has been dyed purple with green eyes. She is fairly good looking, but you can see that she isn’t happy here.   The bar was slightly busy, when five bikers come into the bar. Four men and one female. They are all loud and blustery. On their jackets, they all have “Helions” and a stylized ‘burning’ lion on the back. They look a bit like they are “Hell’s Angels” wanna be’s. They all walk up to the bar and get drinks. Every time the waitress walks buy, they are hassling her. They are also hassling any other woman in the bar, and some of the men.   Bronson walks over to Klara and introduces himself to her and Dr. Moses. They are talking when they both notice that the bikers close to them suddenly stop hassling people and are standing very still. The biker’s eyes roll back in their head, but they don’t fall down. Klara yells for someone to call the authorities to get these people help. No one moves to help.   Bronson does a quick look around and finds a potted plant over by one of the doors and rushes over there, sticks his hands into the dirt and suggests that Mama start making her way back to the motel.   Klara jumps up and makes her way towards the bathroom area to ‘change’ into Honey Badger.   The Dr. notices that the bartender is watching what is going on, without moving, but is smiling.   Timber arrives in the spot that Bronson was standing and fills that area of the building. Mama starts towards the doors.   Nightwing notices a girl shudder and shake and turn into a Minotaur. He starts to move towards her as she is wrapped up by moving tree branches. He turns invisible and jumps through the other door as it opens for a woman moving out very quickly, but not in a panic.   Honey Badger jumps up on the bar and taunts the bikers!
