Session 033 - A Quick Trip North
General Summary

The story so far
The party decides to travel with Athena as she transports the extremely valuable Khamar Copper Plates and the holy books, recovered in a hidden temple to the Sisterhood of the Crimson Dancer stronghold at Quimen Keep in the Kingdom of Orbaal.
Part 1 - On the Docks
With the hero's traveling north, Yureb meets with his contacts in the docks. He arranges a river barge, with a skilled pilot, to take them on the first stage of their voyage downstream to the City of Golotha.
Part 2 - Water Leapers
The party makes good time traveling, and Athena observes the old ruins along Laxley Forest, all dating back from the days of the Corani Empire and wonders if they are worth investigating. But as the river widens and the water flow starts to slow, three huge shrieking froglike monsters, Water Leapers, suddenly fly out of the water. They are dangerous, with poisonous bladed tails, but are beaten back relatively easily, although the risk of one of the heavily armored characters falling into the water was always present.
Part 3 - The Evil City
The barge arrives in Golotha docking under the infamous Kalphor Wharf. They are greeted by a contingent of Thorfinn’s Marines, the mercenary group which has a stranglehold on smuggling in the southern part of the city. Yureb is able to conceal the valuable goods from them but is not able to negotiate a low price for "duties" and "protection" money.
Athena is aware that her Fighting Order, the Crimson Dancers, are planning on seizing the cities Order of the Eight Demons temple decides to do some scouting. Her keen military mind notices weakness in security and the fact that half of the Cohorts of Gashang guards are billeted across town.
The heroes negotiate passage on the Rogue Seahorse, one of the last ships traveling north for the year.
Part 5 - Spying
The Rogue Seahorse makes its way slowly due to weak winds and mild weather, with no one suffers seasickness. On the fifth day of the voyage, Quazzy detects a magical attempt to scry on her and determines that the magic is from an Arcane source. She is easily able to disrupt the spell.
Part 6 - The Charybisa
On day ten while passing through the Kadag Straits a huge Sea Serpent attacks the ship, the legendary Charybisa. It breathed out jets of high-pressure cold water and Athena is nearly torn to pieces by its bite and razor sharp fins. The monster falls back into the water, apparently dead, after moving too close to the ship and suffering a series of lethal strikes and magical attacks.
Part 5 - Yélgri
The party arrives at a small port in the Kingdom of Orbaal, hire a wagon, and make their way to Quimen. Traveling through the mountain passes, they are ambushed by a massive flock of Yélgri; the feared reptilian Harnic Harpy. They nearly kill the Wagon Driver by dropped rocks before swarming and attacking with claws in a bloodthirsty frenzy. The ferocity of their attacks almost overwhelms the heroes however, all of the Yélgri are killed as none seem willing to flee.
The heroes arrive at Quimen Keep as the first snow of the year start to fall.
