Diplomacy in the Sunset Grove

General Summary

Upon arrival in the Sunset Grove, the party chose to seek out Lysanthir’s uncle Laucian, the Dean of the College of Falling Leaves. When his secretary scheduled them an appointment for several hours later, the party chose to spend the intervening time shopping in the Shadow Sector of the city. Their first stop was at a magical trinket shop, followed by a weapon and armor smith, where Kepesk acquired some new adamantine armor and a magical morningstar. A shady dealer attempted to swindle Serilia into buying knock-off magical gloves, but Hox and Kepesk were able to “convince” the gentleman to clear off and give them to her for free instead. A very successful investigation check later led the heroes to a mystical emporium, proprieted by a cheerful, elderly gnomish woman. Kepesk sold his Magpie Queen spine whip, along with a story in exchange for some Bracers of Archery for Serilia. Maz, the gnomish woman, granted Kepesk an additional 100gp credit to her store, which reportedly has locations across Imdaril.   Later, upon arriving for the meeting with Laucian, Kepesk and Carrigan exited to settle their differences through violence. Though he listened to Prince Edmund’s plea, Laucian stated in no uncertain terms that the plight of the Natural World was not a concern of his, though if the party comes across additional information about the portals unraveling, he would be most interested. And perhaps Lysanthir should seek out his father with his trivial concerns.   Outside, Kepesk summarily destroyed Carrigan through blinding violence. Prince Edmund came to his defense with the guards, claiming the fight was a legally sanctioned duel. The party, though turned away from one potential ally, they have another possible option in Lysanthir’s father, Lucien, who can be found among the embassies.
