Session 3 Report

General Summary

The party wakes up in the jail cell to the warden coming into the guardhouse. He comes up to their cell and states his intentions to take each one of them back for private questioning. He starts with Katerina, who refuses to tell him anything. Then Goodman tells him that they were ambushed and defended themselves. The Others tell him some form of the same thing, but Grugrat tries to hide that he's the one that destroyed the buildings. At the end, the warden states the he has ample evidence to say that the party was innocent. Goodman asks about Rike and the warden says he's free to go as well after he pays for his doctor. At the doctor's clinic, Rike says he's free to go and leaves, finding out later that a lot of money was missing from his coinpurse. He finds the jailhouse and meets up with the party there, only to realise it's the same building he saw the bandit go into during their battle last night. He waits until the party finds a tavern then tells them about it there. Goodman asks the bartender about the town, the mayor, and the warden, who tells him a bit of information that implies that they're corrupt. He then asks if there are any people looking for swords for hire and the bartender tells him that he can try his luck in the market where many merchants would pay good money for guarding their supplies as they roam from town to town for trade. Learning this, the group goes to the market and finds a merchant named Delario who says he'd be willing to hire them for traveling north to the town of Kane, with 2 stops on the way, for ten silvers per person per day. The party agrees and they set out the next morning on the road north, stopping and selling his wares at two towns on the way up with no difficulties or delays. On the morning after they arrived in Kane, the party is released from Delario's service and they part ways happy with each other's company. Kith splits off to find someone to steal from, eventually finding and pickpocketing a mark only to find that his own coinpurse has been stolen without him realising. The rest of the party go to the guild district, where Goodman and Grugrat go to the fighter's guild, Katerina goes to the bard's college, and Centurion goes to the thieve's guild. Centurion is almost immediately turned away for being an obvious law enforcer. When he swears he can do it, the clerk snarkily tells him to steal the plans to the bank if he's so good. He claims he will and leaves. Katerina talks to the clerk at the bard's college who sets her down for an appointment to judge her talents in a week from now. Goodman and Grugrat find out that the fighter's guild is offering money to proof of kills of hobgoblins due to the villages to the east being burnt down by them, to which they immediately sign up to do despite Grugrat himself being a hobgoblin. They tell the rest of the party and they agree to head east and search for some hobgoblins to kill.
