Session 14 Report

General Summary

The party starts where they left off after being attacked by hobgoblin assassins. They quickly get everyone packing up the tents. Khigad and Sergeant Sinn get into an argument over burying the dead dwarf. Sergeant Sinn says there's no time. The party also argues that they need to leave now. Gorgol (one of the undine) overhears and offers to take the dwarf to be buried in the way of the undine's people. Khigad reluctantly agrees and they watch Gorgol take the dwarf to the nearby river. The party tells Gorgol to meet them at the burnt town of Kane. They part ways and head on their way back to the bridge. As they snuck their way through the grasslands, they run into Venthi standing in their path. He begins questioning them and tensions rise. Goodman storms up to Venthi and a volley of arrows flies at him from hidden vulpine all around them, 15 sticking into him as he pushes through the pain. Venthi is noticably shocked. Goodman reaches Venthi and puts his hand on his shoulder, telling him to just talk to them. A roar is heard as a bear comes up behind Goodman with Kith on top. In Goodman's surprise, Venthi break away from Goodman who then proceeds to pet the bear and feed it instead. The entire party continues to talk and convince Venthi to try to talk to the humans and maybe they'll leave the vulpine alone, despite doubts among themselves on the outcome. Venthi agrees to send an envoy. Katerina mouths off about how all vulpine should be killed and Venthi threatens to shoot her down where she stands, causing her to stop. As they talk, Centurion reads Venthi's body language and calls out the vulpine as being responsible for kidnapping the undine children and burning down the town of Kane. Tensions escalate again and Katerina starts to cast magic. Venthi demands she stop or he'll shoot; Goodman moves to defend her. She doesn't stop and he calls for the arrows to fire.
