The Soul in the Sword

General Summary

Yara's death hit the group hard, and even armed with the knowledge that her soul had been preserved inside the sword didn't help to alleviate the grief that hung over the party. If anything it made things considerably worse. Olivia was particularly horrified with the knowledge that her friend's soul had not found it's resting place with Atar and, over the course of the following weeks, desperately, and sneakily, performed the death rites over her body in hopes that it would help in some unfathomable way. She knew of no other way to help. Thril was the one with the plan...or, well, Yara had a plan, but since Thril was in possession of the Nine Lives Stealer rapier and thus the only one with whom Yara could communicate...Thril was the one with said plan. The plan was simple, they would seek out the King and humbly ask for his help. Maybe, just maybe he possessed some knowledge that would lead to Yara being returned to her body. Malcer, the King, was full of sympathy and comfort for Thril and revealed that he did know someone who might be able to help. A Daelord who had given counsel to his family for centuries. Aton was the Demigod of Death, Keeper of the Underworld. If anyone could help them it was him. Although it seemed like a slim chance indeed, that he would agree to help them at all. What they weren't expecting was for him to take her body and soul with no word and reconnect them with no talk of payment of any sort. This left the party baffled, and on edge, but with a whole Yara once more. They were able to return to the palace to rest up for the next leg of their journey. In the mean time Wargraff had a private audience with the High King where he laid everything they knew at his feet and asked for his help protecting the party from the Assassins that were dogging their footsteps. He left that meeting with the promise of help in any form he was able to give. The makings of an army now at the dwarf's fingertips. Olivia had her own revelations over the course of those few days, with Yara's help they had pieced together the paladin's heritage. She was descended from one of the demigods and had celestial blood running through her veins. An Aasimar.
