  Arakes is a descendant of the Mantioch Dwarves who grew from long term exposure to Learite, becoming the Mantioch, or the giants. However, he is small for a giant, only around 11 foot tall, so had a rough life growing up because of this, causing him to leave before his 28th birthday - manhood in giant culture - and venture south in search of a better life, here he met Gwyndolin and saved him from trolls. Arakes would go on to join Gwyndolin in his tavern the Talon and Shield.
• Lord Christopher Karsten
  Originally the butler for Count Ifel, Sir Karsten serves the new count as his heir and second in command. He is the lord of Holtertonta and husband of Lady Sari Karsten and Lady Jane Karsten
• Arcarnist Thomas Edwards
  Arcarnist Edwards is a young but skilled human wizard who is researching the fundamentals of magic and the arcane arts, he also occasionally joins his colleagues in inventing magical devices. He also teaches and lectures other arcarnists for research funds.
• High Arcarnist Yezma Nethil
  A prim, proper and cowardly evocation wizard who manages the security forces at the Samos Magic Guild. He is a knowledgeable, but nonetheless inexperienced caster of combative magics, and prefers his life as an administrator over a practical job in the line of fire. He has a faithful, but unappreciated assistant called Troy Borrelis Taoronk, whom he only refers to as Bronk.
