Session Two: Where is the statue of Wuking? Report
General Summary
Our party followed their main lead and headed to the Simple Inn and Tavern, a dirty and crusty place with Harvey being quite the gossip. He informed them of seeing most of the loggers leaving town through his tavern and of his suspicions of Ootah, the half-orc owner of the Dewhurst General Store. The party was not a fan of Harvey's views on non-humans nor his attempts to rip off Reed. Juriat was able to get Reed all of his money back. Ootah, on the other hand, seemed to be well liked by the party. Faelyn even bought a book on the Elvan forest. Ootah, after some persuasion, let it slip that shortly after the statue was stolen Guy was seen running into the church clutching something small and locking himself within with Edwin for several hours. At the church, Edwin was more than willing to hand over the letter. He was just happy to help! The letter was demanding the forest be left alone or the statue would never be found. Guy was confronted for not being forthcoming about the letter and was intimitated into disclosing that something living in the forest had taken that statue and running off the loggers. He then refused to pay more money despite the level of danger the party could be putting themselves in. The party headed off towards the lumber camp. First however, Niten was informed by his patron that Guy had more money than he was saying. Niten went back inside alone to see for himself. After some strong intimination, Guy shows Niten a small chest containing a bit more than 100g and several gems. Niten made it clear that upon their return with the statue that the party would be paid fairly for their trouble. On the way to the logging camp, foot prints were found leading from the town to the camp. Upon arriving, the party found that no one had been staying at the camp for several weeks. The food prints led off into the forest, and Faelyn found a leather bound journal.
