Session 1 Report
General Summary
Our band of scrappy adventurers - Veneficus Verlander, Veneficus Griswold, Erik the Kleric and Krusty - embark with the 6th Fleet of the Asteran Hunters into uncharted waters. They are greeted by Kormic, who calls them onto the boat. After being escorted to their rooms by some Felyne companions, the gang wanders around the ship, meeting some new faces along the way. Erik befriends Garm, the fleet's head chef and brewmaster. Veneficus Verlander finds Brillian Name alone at a table, fervently studying his notes. Veneficus received a very frosty reception from the head researcher, but that did not stop him from visiting every day, nor did it chip away at his friendly demeanor. Meanwhile, Krusty took part in the arm wrestling competition that the hunters organized. He made his way to the finals, but was ultimately defeated by a rather large, human hunter. Erik lost 2GP on that bet. Afterward, Veneficus Griswold, who had been keeping mostly to himself the whole trip, failed an attempt to steal some gold from the bookkeeper to give to Krusty for his hard work. His failed attempt has made him now a bit of a pariah, since he's now marked as a thief. Almost a week passes on the ocean before land comes within view. Almost immediately afterward, an enormous, terrifying beast with black, egg-shaped scales the size of a human flies overhead and is attacked by an even larger tentacle that emerges from the ocean - knocking off a few stowed shamoses from its cargo and onto the ship. The group fends off the beasts successfully, but the larger beast bombed the ship in half as the tentacle came down to finish the job, leaving the ship, presumably, at the bottom of the ocean. Luckily, our 4 heroes made it off the ship alive onto the ship's lifeboats. And now they sail the raging ocean waters toward the uncharted island that they presume to hold the secrets of the elder dragon attacks on the New World.
