The Bloodmoot - Part 6 - The Firenewts Report
General Summary
Zath Sev skewers the first creature climbing out of the fire. When it dies it explodes damaging nearby opponents. He then hides, as is his nature. Baelok then moves into range of another Magmin and lands blows with his two scimitars. The Magmin doesn't take as much damage as Baelok normally does to his opponents but it hurts the creature nonetheless. Ralornan and Bronan the Wildbearian burst into flames as the creatures land some fiery blows. Skar gets some distance as another Magmin dies in a fiery explosion. As the creatures fall The Bear-Downers maneuver themselves so that the explosively dying lava men do not hit them. Once the last Magmin falls Zath Sev and Bronan the Wildbearian begin making their way to the Golden Forge.
The dominating feature of this cavern is the massive golden dwarven head which functions, it appears, as a forge. A large golden anvil is the first thing Zath Sev sees as he approaches cautiously. As he inches closer to the anvil a wave of blistering heat begins to sear his face and hands causing him to back away. Avoiding the anvil Zath Sev tries to approach the tables which are strewn with steel armor and weapons, but as he gets closer the weapons and armor themselves begin to radiate excruciating heat as well. Bronan the Wildbearian sees Zath Sev having trouble and approaches the anvil. He too is repelled by the extreme heat but he is able to withstand the heat from one of the tables filled with weapons and armor. Fighting the extreme heat Bronan the Wildbearian reaches for a large 2 handed maul. The firelight dances off of the steel hammerhead which is decorated with gold inlay. the hammerhead also has a tree with two hammers hanging from either side.
As Baelok , Skar and Ralornan begin to make their way to the Golden Forge they see armed reptilian creatures emerge from behind a wall. Baelok instantly recognizes these beings as Firenewts . They are known for being highly aggressive and militant but they appear to be confused and talking among themselves. Skar and Ralornan start to take up defensive positions anticipating an attack as Baelok attempts to communicate with the Firenewts. Once the Firenewts see Baelok they instantly don shields and draw weapons. There is an apparent communication gap since the Firenewts don't speak common and The Bear-Downers don't speak ignan. As the two groups look at each other the cavern begins tremble. Small rocks start falling from the ceiling splashing into the lava and peppering everyone with debris. Bronan the Wildbearian then notices that parts of the massive golden statue starting to melt.
