The Bloodmoot - Part 3 - Cave Dragons Report

General Summary

The massive tentacles which burst forth from the ground flail about wildly. Black slithering arms beat the ground searching for something to grab. Two of the tentacles find Baelok and Ralornan off guard. Both are immediately grappled and pulled underground leaving the rest of The Bear-Downers scrambling. Bronan the Wildbearian, after regaining his composure, leaps down one of the holes the tentacles left behind. At the bottom is only darkness. Bronan the Wildbearian calls for a torch. Back among the ruins the Cave Dragons continue their assault. Skar makes his way to a nearby pillar to retrieve the lit torch. As he reaches for the torch the carved face on the pillar animates and speaks these words:

  Skar looks around. Time seems to have stopped. Creatures and allies locked in mortal combat frozen like statues. Skar recounts the words and comes up with an answer. Skar says, "Iron Ore". After uttering the answer to the riddle the face on the column fades away revealing some kind of potion. Skar grabs it and reads "Potion of Growth." Time then restarts as Skar holds the torch ready for Zath Sev to grab it and throw down to Bronan the Wildbearian. Once Bronan the Wildbearian gets the torch he can see he is in a cave or tunnel created by the Cave Dragons. Movement is slow but he begins making his way through the darkness.
  Once Skar and Zath Sev make their way down the hole they catch up Bronan the Wildbearian. As The Bear-Downers make their way through the caves Bronan the Wildbearian and Skar notice marking on the walls. They appear to be the same kind of marking Baelok uses so they follow. Just then Zath Sev hears skittering and squeaks. It doesn't take long before The Bear-Downers find out the source of the noise. Rat Swarms.
Out of the darkness swarms of rats move to engulf Bronan the Wildbearian. He swats at them as Zath Sev and Skar attempt to help. Unfortunately, Skar, shaken by the sudden onslaught misses the rats and hits Bronan the Wildbearian in the back with a dart. (OOC: Skar rolled a 1 to hit and MAX damage on the dart attack.) The trio continue to whittle down the rat swarms until all are dead or scattered back into the darkness of the caves.
  The Bear-Downers continue to follow the markings leading them, hopefully, to Ralornan and Baelok . As they turn a corner Zath Sev makes out sounds coming from somewhere ahead. He can hear there are at least two people talking but he doesn't understand the language. The three make their way cautiously until out of the darkness of an adjoining cave two small creatures attack. The Bear-Downers recognize them as Tcho Tcho Cannibals.
These short, ill-favored humans are less than 5 feet tall with thick sideburns, narrow eyes, and a wiry build.  Their teeth are filed into points.  The carry bows and small bronze hatchets.  They immediately attack.  The Tcho Tcho are hard to hit but The Bear-Downers are able to kill one as the other flees down the cave.  The three make their way deeper into the cave still following the markings.  Eventually the cave begins to open up into a cavern.  The ground become more solid making travel a bit easier.  Again, The Bear-Downers hear talking.  Probably more or the Tcho Tcho.  Skar and Zath Sev sneak closer.  They can see an opening ahead, possibly a nest of some sort, but no Tcho Tcho.  Bronan the Wildbearian walks into the cave, his mighty thews coiled and ready to spring on any threat when out of the darkness a bronze axe slices through.  Bronan reacts and takes a defensive position as Skar and Zath Sev kill the remaining cannibals.
  Inspecting the nest The Bear-Downers find Baelok  and Ralornan  unconscious on the floor.  Next to them are 3 Cave Dragon eggs along with some steel weapon pieces.  The Bear-Downers decide this is the best time to take a break and recover..... but is it really the best time?

• Dagger Scabbard - This fine scabbard is made from well work leather with accents of gold and bronze. You can see a symbol of a tree whose branches have two hammers hanging engraved in gold.
• Great-sword Cross-guard - This cross-guard is massive. Its has a symbol of a tree whose branches have two hammers hanging engraved into the center. The guard appears to be made of fine steel with gold filigree.
• Short-sword/Scimitar Pommel - This chunk of metal appears to be a pommel for a short-sword or scimitar. A symbol of a tree whose branches have two hammers hanging is embossed in steel.
