The Blodmoot Begins - Part 1 Report

General Summary

After returning the corpse of the vile sorcerer know as Kelauklyth to Setesh Uttikal the The Bear-Downers have completed their assigned quest allowing them to enter the BloodMoot. The The Bear-Downers have a few days to rest before the BloodMoot begins.
  The Bear-Downers make their way to The Legendary Reservoir, which is the shop Ovi Todar runs. Setesh Uttikal provided The Bear-Downers with Ovi's name so they could try and get a replica made of the magic sword they found. After some negotiations Ovi Todar and The Bear-Downers came to an agreement. Ovi Todar identified the sword a Blade of the Sun Lord. He also identified a couple of other items for them, A Brooch of Shielding and 3 Beads of Force. Ovi Todar told Zath Sev that it would take 1 to 2 weeks to make the replica. After purchasing some other items from The Legendary Reservoir the The Bear-Downers made their way back to the House of the Fallen Star.
 

20th of Tebon AR2213

 

The BloodMoot began with a traditional Tug of War.

  RULES: Each member of the team will roll a strength athletics check, the die totals will then be added together to give a score. The team with the higher score will gain traction and pull the other team closer to them. If the higher roll is at least double opponents roll then it counts as 2 of the wins required. As the rounds progress each win will move a team closer to winning or defeat. It will take 3 wins to pull the other team into the pool of water or other barrier.
  The Bear-Downers dominated all three teams they faced in the pit. Bronan the Wildbearian, Ralornan the mighty ape, Skar, Zath Sev and Baelok are performing admirably at this years BloodMoot. They have taken a commanding lead.
    After tug-o-war Baelok spotted an interesting individual in the crowd. He was an older man. Baelok approached the man who introduced himself as Aziz the Ancient. He motioned to Baelok to sit down where Aziz offered him a drink, as he cackled like a lunatic. Baelok could not resist. He and his "friends" just won a victory so of course people would want to offer him drinks and admiration. Aziz the Ancient pulled a wine skin form within his robes and poured Baelok a drink. As the liquid ran down his throat it soaked into his body and it felt as if the ale turned to light which was warming his skin. It was a strange sensation. His vision blurred and wavered. Rings of light halos shone around all the people at the inn. Hearing the distorted laughs coming from Aziz the Ancient Baelok  turned to see, just for an instant, his face gray/black with a gaping mouth full or sickle like teeth. A second later and everything went back to normal. Baelok liked it so much he had a second, third, forth, fiiith, sixxthed, sevennnnntt..t ......THUD! Baelok passes out cold on the the table as Aziz the Ancient laughed even louder. Zath Sev sees this interaction play out and can only shake his head an laugh as he picks up Baelok and carries him to his room. Aziz the Ancient watches them walk through the crowd and into the hallway. He then turns to another patron at the inn and offers her a drink too.
  The following day, after a late breakfast, the BloodMoot continues with the Trials of Combat. There are various ways these types of competitions run. Setesh Uttikal announces the first two teams competing: The Bear-Downers and The ALPHA Team. The two teams climb down into the pit. The heat from the fallen star could be felt as soon as you step on the floor. They take up sides as Setesh Uttikal announces that rule of this match are "Return this coin to me.", as he holds up a large, metallic coin. He then throws the coin into the pit where it lands on the stone in the middle of the arena...the Fallen Star.
  The Bear-Downers take the initiative and begin attacking their opponents. The ALPHA Team scrambles as Thur Blackbane sprays poison from her mouth as Jaxus Harm runs up to the stone and pry's the coin away. It's almost as if the rock was pulling the coin to it. Jaxus made a dash for one of the ladders. Bronan the Wildbearian lands blows on Barbosa Clay. Ralornan, now a Great Ape, pummels his opponents into the ground. Baelok , Skar and Zath Sev take down Jaxus. Once he dropped the coin Zath Sev made his move up the ladder with OP ROGUE MOVEMENT BS. He resisted a suggestion attempt by Thur before finally getting the coin into the hands of Setesh Uttikal.
  The Bear-Downers have won their first Trial of Combat. Only two more left to go. I hope they are prepared for the battles ahead. Their rivals are definitely ready and waiting.
