Session 2: The Hunt

General Summary

Our heroes began there new adventure the way all good adventures should begin: running for their lives. As they fled the gnoll hoard pursuing them, the the group attempted to use their various skills and spells to escape, but were unable to lose their pursuers. Cornered against a river a desperate melee began ending with the group victorious and able to flee across the river, being rescued shortly their after by a human male. Their rescuer, Henrick Miller, lead them back to his cabin where they met his wife, Brunhilda, and were treated to a meal. The group agreed to take a small chest of gold to the nearby town and attempt to hire mercenaries to deal with the gnolls. Taking a secret pass through the mountains, a short battle took place with a group of goblins, after which the group found a well dressed bard who called himself Archabald. After defeating an ogre that was blocking there way out of the pass, the group discovered a small fort hosting over 100 gnolls. Making their way around this threat, the group continued on to Frankfurt, the small town where they hoped to recruit the help of mercenaries and the local lodge of the Slayer's Society. Meeting at the lodge the next morning the group met Frank, an old wizard who claimed he would be able to defeat the gnolls single handed, for an impossible price. The group decided to split up, one team going to find mercenaries while the other scouted for information that they hoped to use to sway Frank into helping them. The teams then split, Darrell and Fig finding and highering a mercenary group called The Black Hand, while Archibald and Zuko discovered a creature called a Nagpa was leading the gnolls. Frank agreed to duel the Nagpa, on the condition that the party would join the Slayer's Society. After a brief battle, the party defeated the gnoll comander, and Frank forced the Nagpa to retreat. At which point Archibald revealed himself to be a member of the imperial inquisition, and attempted to arrest Darrel, only to be stopped by Frank and retreating there after. The group then returned to the lodge, to await a new day.
