FaM Session 0: Creation

General Summary

A character creation session. We begin with Dougold McMartin (878653) and Darian Grey (4A598C), age 18, as they begin their first career terms.  

Term 1

Dougold, feeling the itch to explore the outer reaches, successfully made it into service with the Union Scouts, along with his brother. Within a couple years, he was awarded a distinction for exemplary service. Meanwhile, Darian failed to make it into University, and instead found moderate success by taking advantage of his family's fame, and after a few years moved to Resulore.  

Term 2

After slacking on a routine check of their scouting craft, Dougold saw his brother's death at the hands of a Siren that had lodged itself in the vents. After disposing of the Siren, in his grief, he vowed to never again skimp on routines. Meanwhile, Darian was approached by a shady type offering him a position in their conspiracy. He refused, gaining the Sirene Brotherhood as an enemy.  

Term 3

Dougold trained and became stronger and more dexterous during these years, and went exploring farther than usual. On one of these adventures he met a Vargr named Wemdall, an exploring noble in his own right, and just a bit eccentric. They parted amicably. Around this time, Darian's parents were killed while attending the theater. While this only improved Darian's fame, he was distraught and began to train himself for combat situations.  

Term 4

Dougold happened across an encoded transmission, one that upon translating, he sent discreetly to the Scout authorities. An assassination attempt was about to happen. With this information Conrad Fletcher, a superior in the Scouts, pulled some strings and managed to warn Darian of the murder attempt. Having been warned, Darian managed to figuratively sidestep a bullet and turn it into yet another productive press release. Dougold was given a promotion for his service and quick thinking.  

Term 5

Darian spent these years living large, hosting dope parties and always finding out more about the Sirenes. During this time he solidified a friendship with Conrad, who helped save his life earlier, and kicked off a cruel rivalry with Bryce Wynn, another in the crowd of rich, bored people. Meanwhile, Dougold was found in his scout ship, drifting around the Spinward Reaches with no control over his combusting ship and no memory of what happened to get him there. As a result he was asked to retire from the Scouts, though he was able to keep his repaired ship.  

Term 6

After leaving the Scouts, Dougold found a position as a bouncer at a prolific (if unreputable) club. While on duty he saw Darian and his newest 'guest,' Yvonne Hawker. He noticed she would make an attempt on Darian's life and intervened, causing a massive upset in the middle of the club. As Dougold and Darian managed to escape, it was obvious that wasn't the last they'd see of Yvonne or of the other Sirenes...
