Session 134

General Summary

  • Dazki's father, Dav'id, asked each party member about a part of their relationship with Dazki, so he could make an informed decision about how he would proceed.
    • It didn't go very well, but before it could come to any conclusion, Dazki challenged his father to a duel to show that he is capable of handling himself.
    • Dazki wore a blindfold throughout the entire thing, and though Dav'id put up a very formidable fight, he missed some opportunities and misjudged the cleverness of his son, which cost him the duel.
  • After losing, Dav'id revealed the true reason why he came: Dazki's brother, Dega'al, has been injured in a battle. He is barely alive, and Dav'id can't lose Dazki too.
  • They followed that with a mostly uneventful dinner, and Dav'id had intended to leave to pursue his business, but Jack showed up at the door.
    • Jack is upset that the party hadn't yet come to see him, especially since (he feels) they had promised him that they would recover pieces of Orrery of the Wanderer, especially having very clearly and directly admitted that the pieces "rightfully" belonged to him.
    • He is also concerned about the power vacuum within The Hounds Guild (apparently, Queen failed to keep this detail from him very long), since if either the party or his daughter were to fill that void on their own (or, worse, working together in cahoots!), it would cause him serious problems.
    • He left with the Far Gear that Dwardazik had recovered, sending ambiguous threats about what will happen if they don't "repay him".

Neither Silent Nor Dadly

Dazki's father, Dav'id, challenges each one of Dazki's companions to explain to him why Dazki should stay in Exignis to continue his mission, given the rumors that he has heard about the group. Dazki cuts him off, however, demanding that he be more specific about what concerning things he has heard — and begging "especially Marvin and Kesmet" to be honest, noting that Dav'id has "nearly as good an ear for deceit as [Dazki does]". He promises to leave the room after, so that his presence won't taint the discussion Dav'id wants to have with the others.   Dav'id acquiesces:
Dav'id: Tales have been reaching me, of great strife and consequence. Grand evils appearing and then slain. Grand evils that have been forced to act, because of the meddling of certain individuals poking the wasp's nest without plan nor protection getting everyone stung. Then, those same wasp-pokers acquiring praise and gaining rewards from the very people whose land was left swollen and pained. There are safer ways of changing and protecting the world — safer for everyone. This righteousness and impulsiveness is getting people hurt. It is not in line with how I've raised you.   Dav'id: You want accusations? Fine. I get it. There was a bounty for terrorist activities — and then there wasn't. Stories surfaced of a crumbling library, and then my son's signature. Stories of dangerous entities like Beholders and terrible undead... and then my son's description pops up again. Shortly after my arrival, even — thinking nary a thing could be any worse — stories of a folk hero dead in vicious combat. And who is this hero's companion? Thick in the danger of it all? My son again! Inserting himself into greater and greater danger in my name.
Dazki thanks him with a slightly sarcastic bow and leaves.   Dav'id tells the others that he wishes to ask each of Dazki's companions a single question, and he will use their answers to gauge whether he is in the right or in the wrong for wanting Dazki to return home. He starts with Blurdrake.
Dav'id: Our discussions have been pleasant but empty while we waited for the others. Even so, I know you are being deceptive. Let's try to tell the truth this time, shall we? Do you believe that this group of yours is capable of dealing with the troubles that they inevitably dig up?   Blurdrake, initially nervous but quickly composing himself: With all respect, Lord, I am being deceptive. But it's not at the behest of anyone here. I admit I am cowardly. And it is my fundamental flaw to hide. In most cases of danger or mischief — and, I do admit, there has been a lot of both — I excuse myself to the best of my ability. I am wholly tired of all this action. But my companions seem to have a wealth of vim and vigor. I may be tired and scared, but I still trust that your son is still capable of keeping pace with the others.   Barry: ...and... with all due respect... I'm really kinda nervous... for still being in here.
Dav'id allows Barry to leave (he does, immediately) and turns to Marvin.
Dav'id: Surely, you have had many an inflated tale of heroism that you could tell me to convince me to ignore the truth of this situation, correct?   Marvin: The honest truth is, no. Well, yes, there is relatively a lot of —   Dav'id puts his hand up.   Dav'id: The question was merely hypothetical. I'm already well aware of your character. And tell me — not hypothetically, this time — how, exactly, did your relationship come to be? My son has a habit of gaining favor with unsavory and rebellious sources, and you seem to be hiding a secret behind that smile of yours.
Without giving away any particularly sensitive parts of the story, Marvin replies with a fully truthful description of how Alfalfa had originally sent him to spy on the party, and how it turned into him genuinely wanting to help them. He then proceeds to talk up how Dazki's current tasks are making him a better leader.   Dav'id focuses on Dwardazik next.
Dav'id: You have heard of my family thus far, to some extent. Maybe not in a more political sense, but surely through what we have spoken about here, through my son, and other connections. At the very least, I am sitting before you now. Do you believe that my son displays the appropriate values to be the heir of the Sylroris family, or am I wasting my time here?
Dwardazik's response focuses on all the connections that Dazki has made with the power players in the city and (to a lesser extent) elsewhere, and then on the dangerous challenges that Dazki has risen to and successfully overcome, recognizing them as hallmarks of an up-and-coming leader who will be more than just a "pencil-pusher".   Dav'id addresses Kesmet.
Dav'id: I would usually be completely uninterested in even hearing from you. But I've determined I can easily deduce your fabrications. I can determine the truth through your lies, if I have to. I've heard several tales now about legal troubles. What, exactly, have you guys been up to in this city? And — be honest, this time, to yourself — do you personally believe these are good decisions being made?
Kesmet's response is along the lines of (paraphrasing), "I've been looking for Dennis, and these guys have been helping. Then we finally found him, it turns out he was involved in some cosmic horror plot, and he was one of the main pillars of the thing, and we took him out. As to whether or not these are good decisions, well, we took down my arch-nemesis, but it cost us Grogery, so I'm not sure".   Dav'id moves on to Theran, still disguised as an owl.
Dav'id, mostly addressing the room: And I'm assuming that the druid has nothing to say to me, given the fact that they seem uninterested in even being a participant?   Theran responds by telepathically communicating in a way where everyone in the room can hear.   Theran: I can converse with you if I put my mind to it.   Dav'id: Oh, great. It seems this is fun for all ages now. Tell me, if you will, O youthful spirit of the woods, how has interacting with my son changed you? For the better, I hope?
Theran's response points to Dazki being a moderating and stabilizing influence to help him understand how best to use his potent magical talents, and to make sure he sees the consequences of his mistakes. He also makes sure to talk about Dazki helping to make sure that the rest of the group is at least safer when they do what they were going to do anyway.   Dav'id addresses the entire room and asks if they regret anything they've done, in light of the fact that some of it was labeled as "terrorist activities". Dwardazik says no (mostly). Dav'id makes a remark that he's unconvinced by their answers, and Dazki walks into the room having prepared tea for everyone.   Marvin stands up and objects to Dav'id accusing them of being bad companions when, in Marvin's view, he's a horrible uncaring father who only cares about his image and refuses to acknowledge the context of the actions that the party has done, or Dazki's sound intentions. He notes that he doesn't think it's possible for anything to convince Dav'id "until [he gets] that stick out of [his] ass", concluding that Dazki "is his own person, and he will be an even better person when he's completed this mission that we all are following him for".   Dazki tries to bring an end to the conversation by steering it towards Dav'id's other business that brings him to Ashport, but Dav'id refuses to take the bait, insisting on addressing the matter at hand instead of saving it for another day ("who knows, you may 'disappear' by then").
Dav'id: Grand plans are one thing, but if you don't have the strength and fortitude to actually complete these objectives, then all you've done is hinder the very thing you've set out to accomplish. And though your body appears to be that of an adult elf, it's clear that your mind is not.   Dazki: Surely, you understand that certain plans take quite a bit of work to undo. We are in the process of finishing what we started. It is spread throughout a good deal of this country, and we have not had the time nor opportunity to reach it yet.   Dav'id: I get it. You want to finish what you've started, sure. But your fiddling is causing problems. Problems to yourself, and problems to others. You need to distance yourself; you can still grow into a competent leader yet. You can help more adequately and with less danger.   Dazki: So, why do you really want me home? What problems is it causing you? Other than damage to your reputation that I could do just as easily at home?   Dav'id: I feel like you haven't heard a single thing I've said since I've come here.   Marvin: Because you haven't said a single thing worthwhile! You haven't told us how you really feel: jealous! You're jealous that your son is leading the life that you wish you could have, and he will make a better name for himself than you ever could have, and that he'll overshadow you.   Dav'id: I RELISH the day when this scoundrel will be able to overshadow me. It hasn't happened yet.   Marvin: No, you don't want it to happen. You really don't.   Dwardazik: Naw, I know we're picking on him right now, but having your son overshadow yourself is actually quite an honor. I'd love to see my son rise up to be the greatest damn miner in all of Amber Falls. Pride to his clan.   Dazki, standing and turning to Dav'id: All right. Fine. You don't think I can handle myself? You don't think I can protect myself? Anything like that? Let today be the day I overshadow you.   Kesmet:
Owl Theran: Hoo   Dav'id: Is that so?   Dazki, motioning to his rapier: Yes. I challenge you.   Dav'id: You challenge me? Your father? The man who taught you the blade in the first place? What tricks do you have up your sleeve this time?   Dazki: No tricks. No magic. Nothing like that. Fair fight. Or are you afraid that age has gotten to you a little bit too much, and that you couldn't possibly keep up with me?   Kesmet:
  Marvin:
Dav'id: Very well. It would be nice to at least know that you've grown physically, if not mentally.
They proceed out back.

A Jab Well Done

Dazki sends Dwardazik out to grab a blindfold. He retrieves one for Dazki and then holds onto Dazki's and Dav'id's equipment as they remove their armor and all magical gear to have a fair fight. Dazki puts on the blindfold.

Combat Summary

  • To those paying attention, Dav'id exhibits a very broad range of low-level abilities, indicating that he is heavily multiclassed.
  • While Dav'id's abilities are clearly designed to give the upper-hand at exactly this sort of sparring, Dazki marks first blood by cautiously using his blindsense, spotting a trap, and forcing Dav'id to waste an action, baiting him into making the same mistake he tried to catch Dazki with.
  • The surprise of making the mistake throws off Dav'id's swing, allowing Dazki to keep advantage in the fight and easily land a second strike, finishing the duel.
You do notice that the fight seems to have taken a lot more out of him than you would have expected. His knee is a little weak, and he's out of breath having used a lot of his "tricks".
Dav'id, slightly quivering: ...I cannot lose another...   Dazki, hugging him: My friends are strong with me. I'll be OK. I promised I'd come home. I'm not going to break my word to you. You taught me as much.   Dav'id: I may not respect you. I'm disappointed in you frequently, in fact. But... ... ... ...   There's a very long pause. Something is bothering Dav'id, a real reason why he would have come here today.   Dazki: Who was it?   Dav'id: Your brother's company. It's taken a heavy hit.   Dazki: He among them?   Dav'id: Even with his strength and competence, it was overwhelmed, the damage severe. Dega'al has survived, but only just. He is alive, but his life is over. A Sylroris protects, and I cannot lose another.   Dazki: You have protected me, and you always will: the way you taught me, the way you raised me — it will forever be armor for me. But that doesn't mean I'm going to stop trying to protect others as well. There are always casualties, yes, but we must do what we can to ensure that those we have sworn to protect — those we need to protect — always have our protection. I promise I will come back.
They head back in for dinner after cleaning up and changing.

Dinner and a Mob Boss

Theran transforms out of his owl form for dinner.
  • (Insight 19 from Theran) Dav'id does get a clear look at Theran's face, but it's hard to gauge his reaction. It seems that the lord is vaguely inquisitive, but mostly smug that he was able to correctly guess that this was a druid.
  • (Insight 22 from Dazki) Dav'id is suspicious about the combination of youth and a high elf's attire in this location. The fact that it's a druid is throwing him off.
The dinner is largely uneventful, mainly peppered by unfruitful attempts to engage in shallow conversation. Near the end of the dinner, even before dessert, Dav'id stands up and excuses himself, claiming to have some business matters to attend to.   Theran relates Dazki's brother's issues to the issues of his own brother falling ill (nobody in his family would even tell him anything was wrong until it was too late), before realizing that he was making it all about himself and stuffing food in his face out of awkwardness. They all toast to family.
Dazki: So, which one of you was it? Or was it someone else entirely?   Marvin: Oh yeah, did your father leave? Is he not staying the night?   Dazki: I'm sure he is staying the night.   Marvin: Oh, OK. Never mind, then. No change of plans, then.   Dazki, annoyed: Of everyone in this room, Marvin... really?   Marvin: Dazki. Just from you describing your father, I could already tell that he was in more need of a blowjob than any elf in history.   Theran giggles.   Dwardazik: Wait, what?   Marvin: Oh, yeah, there's a prostitute waiting for him in the guest room.   Dazki: No, she left.   Marvin: Dammit! ... ...eh, well, meh, whatever.   Dazki: Trust me, that one would come back on me, and it would not look good.   Marvin: Yeah, but it would've been funny!   Dav'id, coming up from behind: Oh, would it?   Dazki's head sinks down.   Dwardazik, ignoring him: Wait, Marvin, you brought a prostitute into the house? And you didn't tell me?!   Marvin: She wasn't for you!   Dwardazik, laughing hysterically: You fucking horndog, you!   The front door creaks open, which only Dazki hears.   Dazki: Excuse me, I believe we have someone at the door.
It's Jack. Alone. He "thought it would be a good time to discuss..." (his eyes lock with Dav'id) "...certain fatherly concerns." They invite Jack to the table, where he takes a seat right next to Kesmet.   Jack dredges up a quote that Dazki had said to him before leaving:
We intend to pursue this Turmoil mage who is working with Mr. Donahue. And, in the event we are able to take care of said situation, we certainly would not have need for those pieces of the Orrery of the Wanderer and would be happy to return them to their rightful owners. Being yourself, of course.
"A devil always keeps his word — and expects the same in return."   Dazki explains what had happened, but Jack isn't having it. Dwardazik excuses himself to run upstairs to grab the Far Gear, which he had taken before they left. Jack isn't particularly enthused by this, and they have an extremely tense discussion about what to do, made much more tense by Dav'id glaring directly at Dazki the entire time. (Wisdom Persuasion 24) Jack is willing to drop his issues with the Orrery to discuss at a different time and place.   (Arcana 17) Looking at the Far Gear again, Dazki gleans that it's supposed to help with Charisma, and that each of the other pieces is designed to play off of a different specific stat as well.   Jack changes the topic to his daughter, letting on that he knows that she and Dazki are "up to something". He knows that Donahue's head came from Dazki, and he doesn't seem convinced that the sole purpose of giving it to Queen was just to remove blackmail. Dazki (truthfully) clarifies that they had originally intended to use it as leverage for funds to pay for a True Resurrection spell for Grogery, and that when that fell through, it became less valuable to them.   Jack turned to the topic of The Hounds Guild suddenly being without a leader. He's concerned that there is no suitable replacement. Dwardazik quickly offers the idea of installing Kesmet as the leader, though Jack isn't immediately all that keen on the idea, as he is concerned about how much Kesmet reminds him of Dennis (a comparison that Kesmet disapproves of, to say the least). Jack even rises to his feet and draws his pistol, clearly threatening Kesmet over resembling a hound, which causes Kesmet to rise as well and draw a couple of daggers.   Marvin repeats and rephrases Dwardazik's original proposal to try to defuse the situation: insert an agent into the Hounds Guild and use that influence to guide it into a direction that's advantageous to the House of Cards. Jack ignores that.
Jack: Perhaps we can make a deal.   Dazki: And what do you propose?   Jack: Since you still owe me — (Dazki rolls his eyes) — I don't know what she's up to. But I know it's something. And it has something to do with you.   Dwardazik: Who, me? Couldn't be!   Jack: I am willing to be incredibly patient here, as you have no doubt seen. But if, at any point, the Queen of Hearts, my daughter, has anything to do with the Hounds, your head is going to be the next one I acquire.   Dwardazik: Why would we have anything to do with the Hounds?   Dazki: I fail to see how we would be able to control your daughter's actions.   Jack: If you keep empowering her, she will make mistakes. Your mistakes.   Dwardazik: I'd just like to point that I'm not really particularly involved with this, Mr.? I'm just kind-of a follower. So, if you're forming, like, a contract, then I'd just like to make it absolutely clear...   Jack: I want you to stay out of it. And, more importantly, I want you to make sure she stays out of it. Quite the paradoxical trouble. Do you get involved, or don't you?   Dwardazik: Dazki, help me, what does he mean?   Dazki: He suspects that Queen is going to attempt to take control of what is remaining of the Hounds Guild and use it as leverage to take over his Family as well. And he wants us to stop her from doing that, by somehow stopping her from getting involved in the Hounds Guild in a way that she cannot take over.   Jack: I simply cannot afford to lose the power and skills she has, and the resources she would take with her.   Kesmet: Sounds like you need to step up your parenting game and not talk to a bunch of miscreants that you want to, what, parent for you?   Jack points the gun towards Dav'id.   Jack: As head of a household — a family — it is important that certain values are met. That each is cared for, appropriately. I wish for you — or at least a subset of you — to deal with this Hound problem before my daughter makes any mistakes that might... disenfranchise you.   Dazki: And how would you suggest we do that? Or are you leaving it us to be "creative"?   Jack: There is currently a power vacuum. Figure it out.   Dwardazik: So what happens, we take control of the Hounds Guild, and now we're the enemy? Because Queen's going to be manipulating us, so then you have even more justification to get rid of us? I mean, come on! Why don't you just sit Queen down and have a father/daughter talk or somethin'? Isn't that how this is supposed to be done?   Dazki grows concerned that Jack may actually be reaching the end of his patience.   Dazki, looking straight at Dwardazik: Things like that do not always go the way you expect, especially with rebellious — er, children who have a tendency towards... ambition and skill. I am a living example of that.   Dwardazik: Well, you and your father were able to —   Dazki: Dwardazik. Please. Just, uh... hold on for a moment, if you would.   Dwardazik: Mr. Jack. It sounds like you're about to place us into a position where we're going to have to harm — directly or indirectly — either you or your daughter. And we don't want to do that, OK? I don't want to do that. We're getting tangled into a very difficult situation. Is there nothing you can do on your end to try and maybe not put us into that situation? (Persuasion 22)   Jack, holstering his pistol with a sigh: Either you're in, or you're out. There is no halfway here. I will not have any half-assery.   Dazki: And if we're out, what then?   Jack: Then stay out of it.   Sensing Kesmet's growing frustration with this situation, Jack spins to him.   Jack: Do you wish the Hounds to be eliminated? Is that what you wish? Is your revenge fulfilled, then?   Kesmet: I don't give a damn about the Hounds. I got Dennis.   Jack: There is always another "Dennis".   Kesmet, looking confused: Like, what, he'll revive my family and someone else will kill them? What does that even mean? Or do you mean, like, another person named Dennis? Because I'm fine with them, it's not, like, the name. You're a very confusing character, you know that, Mr. Jack?   Theran: I think it's "Mr. of Jacks"?   Kesmet: Oh, excuse me, then. Mr. of Jacks?   Jack, after holding up one finger for a long time: I am not asking presently for you to choose sides. But, stay out of it, or stay in the game. There is no other options.   Dazki: That is crystal clear.   Kesmet: ...it is?!   Jack, taking another hard glance at Dav'id: I believe we've been perfectly clear, here. I look forward to seeing how you're going to repay me.
Jack leaves the room, bowing politely to Dav'id almost in jest, and Dazki sees him out of the house. Outside, Jersey is unconscious, and Seven of Diamonds is there as well. Dazki calls for Dwardazik to help drag Jersey in.
Marvin: Dazki. I think we need some clarification too, since it's an "in or out" situation?   Dazki: Oh, no, it's an "in or... in" situation.   Marvin: ...right, I guess what I'm getting at is, how do you really feel about Queen? If your intentions are what I think they are, I'm behind you 100%, but if it's just a... not-all-that-serious, then... a strategic retreat is not unwarranted.   Dwardazik: You'd better not kill us just because you want to get steady with Queen!   Dav'id is still just glaring at Dazki across the table.   Dazki sighs and shakes his head.   Marvin: I'm all about a good love story!   Dazki: No. No. Even if that were the case, Jack did not particularly give us a choice. He is saying that we will disassemble the Hounds Guild from within, or else he will kill those we care about as recompense for the items of the Orrery of the Wanderer that he did not get returned.   Dav'id: That is not what he meant.   Dazki: Oh? And what did you get from the conversation?   Dav'id: It appears whatever family Jack is from is just as protective. He's threatened by you.   Dazki: He is threatened by us empowering his daughter, yes.   Dwardazik: Are you implying that, you know, Queen and Dazki get hitched and he becomes the new king? That kind of thing?   Dazki: Dwardazik. I'm engaged, remember?   Dwardazik: Yeah, yeah, you said it was open.   Dav'id: You were speaking earlier, companions, of a father being concerned about living in the dust of his youngers. And, though I do not have these feelings, I have a sense others might. He's threatened by you. He's threatened by the both of you.   Dwardazik: Well, look, clearly I don't have any ambitions to move up anywhere or anything within the Hounds and/or the House of Cards.   Dazki: That doesn't rule us out as a threat.   Dwardazik: I know that, I'm just saying the real question is, what are your plans? Because you're the one who's most in it.   Dav'id: Well, you only know how to do two things: play the noble, or play the thief.   Dwardazik: Oh, we have one more option: play the chaos.   Marvin: That's our specialty!   Dav'id sighs heavily.   Dazki: I do have a decision to make. And chaos will not help in this situation.   Dwardazik: No, no, you don't get it! That's the beauty of it! We're gonna try and do something, and then the chaos will find us! It's almost like destiny! It hates us!   Marvin: We do tend to have a knack for that...   Dwardazik: We're gonna go try and set something straight, and then something's going to blow up, and we're gonna get blamed for it!   Dav'id: He does have a point, though. If, indeed, you have somehow created a power vacuum within a dangerous society — which, I guess, is something you can do now! —   Dazki: Natural disaster.   Kesmet: That was more a side effect of what we were going for.   Dav'id: — then, perhaps, you have another mess to clean up.   Dazki: Certainly seems that way. Let's hope the other messes we need to deal with can wait for this one.   Marvin: To be fair, though, with your expertise on a particular subject, do you believe that Jack has the expertise to properly handle the artifact that we just handed over?   Dazki: Well, we did clean the material off of it, and he only has one piece.   Marvin: Right, but we saw what the Rotor can do by itself, and what happens when it's mishandled. Is Jack that careless?   Dwardazik: I personally didn't want to hand it over. But also, what are we, a vault? Where were we going to store an artifact with that power?   Marvin: I don't disagree with that, and you made the right call, don't get me wrong.   Dwardazik: That, or someone would be dead.   Dazki: Honestly, I'm surprised that Annu didn't ask for it back when we told him our story.   Marvin: I'm just concerned, not of what he'll to to others, but what he'll do to himself with that artifact.   Dazki: I guess, there's our answer.   Dwardazik: So that's going to be the chaos element?   Marvin: Could be.   Dwardazik: Ugh. Jeez. All I wanted to do was get some sleep.   Marvin: Honestly, with what we've seen that these things can do, he might just be driven mad by that thing.   Dwardazik: That would be unfortunate.   Dav'id: Well, this certainly has been an... interesting... evening, but I'm afraid I must retire.   Dazki: Probably for the best. I hope you will conduct your business as efficiently as possible. And I will make it home as soon as I can to see my brother.   Dav'id: And I hope you can keep your libido in check for long enough to not have the entire family murdered by a mob boss.   Dazki, with a laugh: Don't worry about that. It's just my natural magnetism. It was all her doing. And besides, I haven't gotten her to bed yet, and I don't intend to.   Marvin: But you used the word "yet"!   Dwardazik: Yeah!
Dav'id bows and excuses himself.   Theran uses "Really Good Insight" to sweep the room to try to find if anyone from Jack's crew are around. Finding no one invisible in the area, they have a bit more discussion among themselves about what to do, but they don't come to any conclusions.
Blurdrake: Well, here's the thing, though. I think, for the most part, you're just gonna get blackmailed forever, now that he knows you have people you care about.   Dazki: Yeah, unless we can do something to make him stop.   Blurdrake: So, I think for now, we kinda have to figure out his problems.   Dazki: Right. We do need to find out what he needs, what his weaknesses are, and how best to exploit him to get out from under his thumb.   Blurdrake: I mean, it kinda sounded like the Queen was his weakness. But we're not supposed to talk to the Queen.   Marvin: When has that ever stopped us? We do things we're not "supposed to" do all the time!   Theran: There are ways of talking to people without actually talking to people.   Dazki: Well, looks like there are some things we've got to figure out.   Theran: Dazki, if we get to a spot, I want to try to help with your brother. Which would probably involve trying to get my family's resources involved. I'm not sure how much sway I'll actually have with anyone back there anymore, but I want to help.   Dazki: I would appreciate that.   Marvin: If we're actually going to infiltrate the Hounds Guild... I don't actually have to become a werewolf, do I?   Dwardazik: Oh God, could you imagine?   Theran shapeshifts into a wolf.   Marvin: Hey, look! There's one right there! Let's get this process started; hey, Wolfie, give me a bite! I'm ready, let's do this.
Marvin holds out his arm in front of Wolf Theran, who sniffs his arm, looks up at Marvin, and sneezes in his face.
