Session 5: Fighting Through the Halls of Choice Report

General Summary

The party continues to the next chamber which has a stream of magma flowing through it. As much of the party moves into the room, N4 remains in the previous chamber, and the door shuts. Magmin emerge from the lava and combat ensues. N4, with the use of an entangle spell, manages to lift the door up and enter the fray. Tenerok summons a celestial spirit, a spiritual weapon, and even a guardian of faith to help during the fight. Even though the magmin explode when killed in a ball of lava, they do not prove to be much of a challenge for the party.   The next chamber has 5 holes in the earth with dark tunnels... but an explosive arrow from Mattyito destroys part of the earth sending Mattyito and Azarath tumbling down but killing several of the hiding monsters. The remaining Kruthik emerge from the holes and go on the offensive. Azarath cuts the tongue out of one of them and strangles it to death with its own tongue. Mattyito's cannon slays the other one.   Opening the door to the next room the party finds a tangled mass of vines, branches, and shrubs blocking the party's vision and advances. Tenerok simply throws a fireball into the chamber and an inferno of fire burns away so much. The remaining Assassin Vines prove to be a little more of a challenge with their poisonous grappling. Through a coordinated series of attacks, they are brought down.   That strange demon appears, offering a choice, he will give each party the benefits of a long rest but they must sacrifice a random item. Only Tenerok accepts this deal, and Mattyito attacks the strange demon but finds his weapon passes harmlessly through him. The demon disappears, leaving the next door to be explored.
