Session 1 - Your First Show part 1 Report

General Summary

The adventure begins during preparation for the inaugural show of the Circus of Wayward Wonders. Everything was going accordingly until gasps were heard near the curtains. Everyone gathered around to see that Myron, the circus ringleader, was dead. The Professor quickly took charge and sent out the clowns as a distraction but tasked the party with creating the Acts for the show.   The party came up with the Act list and the show was on it's way. First up was Ignar and his Dancing Monkeys. The trick began slow, but with the assistance of some well timed clowns he was able to find a groove. He opened the show but failed to truly 'Wow' the audience. During his performance, the other heroes dealt with some ruffians who were causing a distraction and making rude remarks about the performance. Konrik was able to scare them into submission and the audience was thankful for their aid.   The next Act was set to start but Mordaine refused to go on without being in the Big Number. The heroes tried to reason with her but she refused to go on as a second hand star. Ignar eventually entered the tent and, with the aid of Mordaine's personal assistant Hod, they were able to convice her to perform as long as she could be the Bidg Number in the next performance. Mordaine performed her trick which went quite well. The crowd responded positively with the help of the clowns.   The next trick in the Act was Farnham's Medical Mysteries of which he accepted a crowd volunteer to display his trick upon. It was hard to see and understand what exactly was happening but as the trick went on, Farnham's mastery of medicine was enough to impress those in the stands.   During these tricks, there was a disturbance in the stands once again. When the non-performing heroes approached the stands they saw 3 stray vipers. Believing them to be Elizia's snakes, Venn ran back to get her while the others tried to calm the crowd and deal with the snakes. When Venn returned with Elizia, she claimed they weren't her snakes though she did assist in shooing them out of the tent and away from the audience.   It was finally time for the Big Number, which Konrik was scheduled to perform. His Amazing High Dive into a Shallow Pool started off strong with a textbook jump and transitioned into a strong dive that amazed the crowd. It ended standardly but the crowd could not complain about the amazing performance.   Meanwhile, the non-performers saw another disturbance going on in the crowd and realized it was a drunken couple who were trying to start a brawl. When approached, the two were quite belligerent and refused to back off peacefully and instigated a fight. Venn was struck by the drunken brawler and responded with a lethal attack with his sickle. Upon realizing her husband was attacked, the woman panicked and ran away. The crowd was quite upset at seeing someone, even a drunk asshole, attacked with such hostility. Thinking quick, Farnham healed the man's wounds inflicted by the sickle and gave him a genuine apology. This act was seen by the crowd and they felt placated although they certainly weren't impressed with Venn.   The party prepares for the Grand Finale but with the mystery surrounding Myron's death many wonder what the outcome of this whole endeavor might be...
