Hilda

King Oswald stood waiting for them as Hilda and her senior staff entered the throne room of Bastion. She scanned the room as she walked, her eyes looking for the sight of the soon to be queen. She had looked up what images she could find on Blair Tusk, but Grimm Hearth had little, a few outdated images and videos of her from years past, but even then she could see the beauty in the girl.

Hilda couldn’t see anyone who looked like Blair, but dozens of nobles, and members of court filled the room. Faces she knew well, and faces she did not know at all.

“Lord King,” Hilda said as she stood at the foot of the stairs before his throne. She dropped to one knee and bowed her head, and heard the rest of her staff follow suit.

“My King’s Guard,” the King said with delight in his voice. “We have heard of your exploits, we have heard how the ‘Jade Grip’, and her fearsome crew took down a Furse warship, and stormed their base.”

The King was smart. Her report had mentioned that the ship had not in fact been crewed by the Furse, but the King had not said it had, merely stated that the ship had been of Furse design, which it had been.

“You and your crew should be proud,” King Oswald continued. “You have brought the peace of the Commonwealth to those systems which have so sorely needed it. You have banished the enemies of the Commonwealth, and above all,” he said, and his eyes fell on Hilda. “You have made your king proud.”

“Thank you lord king,” Hilda replied.

“I shall see that your crew is rewarded. You have brought the king’s peace and justice to those who needed it, and for that loyal duty, you shall all be well rewarded,” he said with a grin.

“Rise,” King Oswald said. The king stood from his throne, and walked towards Hilda as she rose from her knee. “Well done,” he said softly, and Hilda tried not to blush.

“Thank you Lord King,” was all she could say again.

“Please, I beg all your pardon, but I must meet with my King’s Guard, and her brothers and sisters of the cloak will wish to greet her,” King Oswald said, and Hilda realized that while members of the King’s Guard Forces were present, none of the thirteen sworn members of the king were in the room.

“Come,” The king said and grabbed Hilda by the arm, and walked with her through one of the side doors into a room.

“Where…” Hilda began but stopped as the king spun her around, and locked his mouth onto her, and she felt his hand on her breast. She closed her eyes and returned the kiss for a moment, before she pushed the king off her.

“What about your soon to be wife?” Hilda snarled.

The King grinned. “It is not her that I want,” he said and kissed her again, and Hilda felt the king’s hand slip into her pants, and did not fight him.
