Thanks for reading the preview to my book! Please note that all the content in these chapters are not yet final and subject to change. The title "The Orphan Kings" is also a working title.
This story is something that's been swirling around in my head since I was a teenager - I would often think about it while laying in bed trying to sleep. Eventually it became my method for falling asleep quickly: I would forget about the troubles of the world and continue the narrative of this fantasy story in my head, making it up as I went along. Occassionally I would go from thinking of it to sleep to dreaming of it in my sleep, and waking up in the morning having progressed the story. Having told my wife about the story and narrative within, she encouraged me to write it all down.
Some of the characters in the story are derived from personalities I've come to know in my real life, but none of the names or appearances match. At any rate, please feel free to give feedback as this is my first time writing any long story. At the time of writing this note, I have written around 47,000 words and am about half way done with the novel. This preview release includes the first two chapters, which is around 10,000 words.
