Deep under the planet's surface, dwarves have no notion of the passage of time outside of various cues given by listening stones placed in each Hold. Dwarven timekeeping is a complex science combining the study of water and fermentation.

In a standard human year of 365 days, there are 548 days in a dwarven cycle. Instead of seconds, dwarves build intricate water clocks from specially grown stalactites in their capitals which are grown to specific, standardized measurements.
