“So, this is the alterna territory.” I whisper as Eaa and I silently wind our way around the giant trees. We are heading through the Thick Woods in search of the legendary alterna metropolis where Queen Later lives in her palace.

“I can smell you, intruders.” A booming voice says, and we freeze.

A giant alterna with a black heart on his left shoulder comes out from the enormous trees behind us and looks down at us.

“Pitiful. I suppose I must take you to Queen Later, however. You two will walk in front of me into the alterna metropolis to meet Queen Later. Don’t try any funny business.”

“I’m afraid our business isn’t all that funny.” I quip and the alterna roars,

“And no talking!”

Mutely, Eaa and I walk in front of the alterna while he mutters to himself.

“I need a cage for this job. Pesky tiny creatures keep coming in.”
