Sevnóni Guide to Wythe

Fulgurite Armbands

Wondrous Item

Very Rare Requires Attunement

Two armbands made of braided bands of charred pine, each set with a jagged, cloudy crystal, and ending in silver clasps. Religious iconography and prayers written in Sevnoni spiral up the charred braids of pine, made starkly visible through incisions into deeper, unburnt wood.   This item can have 4 charges, though it starts with none.   On a long rest, this item regains 1d4 charges. If during this long rest, an attuned wielder meditates for thirty minutes in open air while it storms or rains, the item regains an additional 1d4 charges.

Father of Flame

In ancient times, before flint and tinder, flame had but one source.

When you cast a spell that deals fire damage, you may substitute it for lightning damage if this item is used as a focus.

Prepare for Strife

A canny man can sense the long moments before battle, raw and clean like the scent before a bolt of lightning falls. It is best to be ready.

As a bonus action, you may transform the Fulgurite bands into a +1 spear, or from that form back into armbands. While in this form, it no longer functions as a spellcasting focus, but retains all of its other abilities.

Word of Obeisance

When Myrvûs’s greatest foe could not be persuaded to descend back to the still earths, his blows humbled their quarry, rendered prostrate, past clay and silt, to slam upon hard rock.

When you deal lightning or thunder damage to a target, you may expend 1 charge to force the target to make a Strength saving throw (DC 16 or your spell save DC, whichever is higher), on failure either knocking the target prone, or moving them 10ft away from you in a straight line. You may instead expend 2 charges to attempt to accomplish both (the target makes a single save for both effects).

Righteous Fulmination

Woe to the one who incites solemn Myrvûs to ready his greatest weapon.

Uncoiling from their wearer’s arms into a jagged mandala, the armbands suddenly reknit themselves into a braided spear, tipped with both crystals, set nine hair’s breadths apart from each other. As a bonus action, you may expend 2 charges, and optionally a spell slot of any level, to transform the Fulgurite Bands into a magical spear held in one of your free hands, or in the free hand of a creature within 15 feet of you. The stats of the spear are listed below. Additionally, if you took more than 30 damage from a single source or creature this round, you may instead expend 1 charges, and optionally a spell slot of any level, to activate this transformation instead.

When you attack with this weapon, you can use your Spellcasting Ability Modifier, instead of Strength or Dexterity modifier, for the attack and damage rolls. When the Fulgurite Spear hits a creature, it changes its stats to a regular +1 spear, as described in Prepare for Strife.
If the Fulgurite Spear is thrown and misses its target, it immediately returns to its attuned wielder’s hand.
