Widespread and Wild. Demi-humans share many traits with humans, although there is one key difference. Supposedly due to some kind of yokai-related primal ancestry, demi-humans all have varying forms of animalistic physical traits. Bat ears and wings, bird talons for feet, a fox tail, or shark gills are some of the many animal traits a demi-human can have. Although they have an awful, dark past with humans, demi-humans have recently been accepted into human society, and are uncommon sights in most human cities and towns.   Ability Score Increase. Any one Ability Score of your choice increases by 1, alongside any increases brought by Animal Trait.   Age. Demi-humans fully mature in their mid-teens and live roughly 100 years.   Alignment. Although they can think like humans, most demi-humans have a bit of feral instinct flowing within them. As a result, most demi-humans tend to be chaotic.   Size. Demi-humans have a large variety of body types and shapes, but they tend to be between 5 and 6 feet tall. Your size is medium.   Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.   Animal Trait. Demi-humans can gain many new abilities based on the animal they descend from. The following chart contains examples, but feel free to talk to your DM for your animal traits if they aren't listed within the example chart.

Bat +1 Dexterity Sensitive Ears. Your large bat ears give you much sharper hearing than the average humanoid. You gain proficiency with the Perception skill. Night Flight. The leathery bat wings sprouting from your lower arms grant you the ability to fly. You have a flying speed of 40 feet while not wearing medium or heavy armor.
Crab +1 Strength Crustacean Sturdiness. The powerful crab carapace growing on you boosts your defense. You gain +1 AC. Disarming Pincer. The massive claw sprouting from one of your arms serves as a powerful tool in combat. As a bonus action, you can make a creature within 5 feet of you make a DC 5 athletics saving throw, disarming the target on a failed save. This action's save DC is increased by your Strength modifier + your proficiency bonus.
Fox +1 Charisma Vulpine Cunning. Your senses are enhanced by the fox within. You gain proficiency with the Survival skill. Swift Trickster. Your vulpine traits give you a natural bit of gracefulness as you move. You gain an additional 15 feet of walking speed.
Shark +1 Strength Ancient Fangs. The razor-sharp teeth within your mouth give you quite a menacing appearance. You have advantage on all Intimidation checks. Predatory Plunge. The gills and shark tail growing on you grant you the ability to swim like your aquatic ancestors. You gain a swimming speed of 40 feet, and can breathe underwater. Along with this, you also have advantage on attack rolls against creatures smaller than you.
Rat +1 Constitution Sewer Strider. Your rat anatomy grants you unique resistances against all that is filthy. You gain resistance to poison damage. Versatile Tail. Your long, prehensile rat tail has many unique uses. It can be used as a third appendage, allowing you to hold items or weapons with it, as well as anything else you can do with your arms.
Owl +1 Wisdom Darkvision. Your vision is enhanced by the nocturnal hunter within. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray. Feathered Flight. The owl wings on your back grant you nigh unmatched aerial mobility. You have a flying speed of 35 feet while not wearing medium or heavy armor. You also gain advantage on Perception checks made while flying.
Mole +1 Dexterity Tremorsense. Your mole genetics make you able to sense even the smallest vibrations. You are able to sense and pinpoint vibrations made by creatures on the ground within 70 feet of you. Keen Claws. The large claws growing from your hands grant you the strength of a true mole. You have a burrowing speed of 20 feet.
Raven +1 Intelligence Hallowed Frame. Your bones and hands are bird-like, and grant you the speed of the fastest corvid. You have 5 additional walking speed while not wearing heavy armor, and no longer take damage from falls of 50 feet or less. Corvid Mimicry. The raven within you gives you the ability to copy sounds and voices you hear. You can almost perfectly mimic any simple sound or other creature's voice you hear.
Snake +1 Wisdom Serpent's Tongue. The slender, forked snake tongue you possess grants you abilities that most wouldn't be able to accomplish with their tongues. You gain proficiency with the Perception and Persuasion Skills. Smooth Scales. The snake scales covering your body give you some minor protection from damage. You gain a +1 bonus to AC.
Cat +1 Dexterity Feline Gale. Your feline ancestry makes you lighter on your feet than other demi-humans. When you move on your turn in combat, you can double your speed until the end of the turn. Once you use this trait, you can't use it again until you move 0 feet on one of your turns. Nine Lives' Luck. Your catlike traits seemingly boost your luck. When you roll a 1, you can reroll it. You can only use this feature once per short or long rest.
Monkey +1 Strength Primate Paws. The ape flowing through your veins gives you the natural movement capabilities of your monkey brethren. You have a climbing speed of 30 feet. Versatile Tail. Your long, prehensile ape tail has many unique uses. It can be used as a third appendage, allowing you to hold items or weapons with it, as well as anything else you can do with your arms.

 

Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common.
