Description

The dremora Anhaedra was bound to Mundus by Vivec. The large stone shrine within the temple symbolizes when Vivec taunted Mehrunes Dagon to cast destruction towards him instead of the people. Anhaedra has been bound to the plane for 2 eras and has a short temper, though he is content to squash foolhardy pilgrims. Prophet Ravel is usually more amused by these attempts, as he stops Anhaedra before anyone is actually killed. Anhaedra is equipped with a full set of daedric plate armor.
If he is defeated, he dissipates leaving only a daedra heart and the weapon he most recently summoned. Dropped bound weapons are of daedric origin, and are magic items of +1. The pilgrims who manage to goad and defeat him may receive a blessing from the shrine as well, fortifying their Charisma by 2 points for 48 hours.

Suggested Environments

When the session came around, I made the different weapons much more cinematic. When he changed weapons, he also gave off different information. The dai-katana made him assume a defensive stance, inferring the +3 bonus to block. I also made him more likely to try reflecting spells in this mode, or blocking spectral attacks by making his weapon spectral. He phased his weapon out of the mortal realm during a wide strike, meaning the opponents could not block the attack, very cool. In greataxe mode he was much more aggressive and tried to bash in Hans's skull, though he did succeed to crush Nilis (5 levels of exhaustion, nearly died!). Gives me some good ideas to better plan future combats and what to plan for.

Multiattack: 2 attacks
Bound Weapon: As a bonus action, Anhaedra may summon any number of weapons from the planes of oblivion. When he summons a new weapon, the previous one is unbound. These weapons appear as material as him.
Bound Weapon Shifting: Summoned weapons can be turned to an ethereal state at will. As a bonus action, Anhaedra may shift his weapon, making its next attack deal necrotic damage instead of its usual damage type.
Special Attacks: Each bound weapon has a signature move.
With the Dai-Katana, Anhaedra may combine his multiattack into a sweeping strike, cutting through multiple opponents in a cone.
With the Kanabo, Anhaedra may combine his multiattack to perform a stunning blow. Targets hit by this must make a DC 18 Constitution saving throw or be stunned until the start of your next turn.
With the Greataxe, Anhaedra may combine his multiattack to strike with incredible force, adding +10 to the damage roll.

Actions

Dai-Katana: melee, +9 to hit, 2d6+6 piercing or slashing damage. Reach, heavy, two handed. Block is buffed by +3 when wielding this weapon.
Kanabo: melee, +9 to hit, 1d10+6 bludgeoning or piercing damage. Heavy, two handed.
Greataxe: melee, +9 to hit, 1d12+6 bludgeoning or slashing damage. Heavy, two handed.

Reactions

Spell Reflection: Anhaedra may use a reaction to attempt to redirect targeted spells cast on him. If he succeeds a charisma saving throw against the caster's spell save DC, then it is successful.
