Duration: Instantaneous
Choose any single object or magical effect. You can also ready a casting of this spell to attempt to dispel instantaneous effects. If you dispel an item it is dispelled for a d4 rounds. Any other dispelled effect is completely negated. To determine if you are successful you need to roll an 11 or higher with the following modifiers:
At higher levels: Provides a bonus as stated above. - +1 or -1 for each level higher or lower the dispel magic you are casting is than the effect you are attempting to dispel
- + your casting ability modifier, if you are attempting to counterspell the opposing caster provides a penalty equal to their casting ability modifier
- uncommon items are considered 3rd level, rare items are considered 7th level, very rare items are considered 12th level, legendary items are considered 18th level, and artifiacts cannot be dispelled
