He also had a habit of hiding artifacts he found that could help the demon cause in long and complicated dungeons which he linked with magical tunnels that allowed you to spam a distance of 100 miles in 5 minutes. The Harpers also have a history of bringing in small and large regions into their commonwealth throughout the world ‘liberating’ them and promising prosperity.
