Research of magic and the wasteland has been outlawed since the creation of the Citadel, in the purpose of protecting its citizens. You didn't heed their suggestions, perhaps to protect others, or simply down to curiosity. No matter the reason, your investigations have roused suspicions and you are to be tried for your research.
