Materials a crystal gemstone with a light refracting split in its centre, that is otherwise completely faultless, worth at least 1,000 gp

You create a refracted image of a medium or smaller creature that you can see within range. The refraction appears in an unoccupied space within 5 feet of you. The refraction is mostly corporeal and olfactory, and is an exact clone of the target creature, but in negative colours. The refraction has the exact statistics, abilities, actions and current resources that the target creature has, with the following alterations:

  • The refraction has vulnerability to all damage.
  • The refraction deals half damage on all damage rolls it makes.
  • The refraction is in negative colour and speaks in reverse.
Roll initiative for the refraction, it takes a turn just as any other creature. The refraction is hostile to the target creature only, but defends itself if attacked, and only speaks to cast spells.
At higher levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 7th level or higher, the size category of creature you can affect with this spell increases by 1 per spell slot level above 6th. For example, casting this spell at 8th-level means that you can affect creatures of huge size or smaller
