Materials an item containing the essence of the target, such as a strand of hair or a drop of blood, which the spell consumes, and the eye of a corvid

Select a target that you have met before, and have seen in the last 24 hours. If that creature is on the same plane of existence as you, a dark, spectral eyeball forms above their head, and fills a 5 by 5-foot space. At the end of the target's next turn, the eye explodes in a 20-foot radius, forcing each creature within said radius to make a Constitution saving throw.   On a failed save, the each affected creature takes 8d8 necrotic damage, halved if the creature succeeded the saving throw.   Before the eye explodes, in addition to your normal vision, you can see through it as though you were in its space.
 
At higher levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 7th-level or higher, the damage of the spell increases by 2d8 per spell slot level expended above 6th.
