Longbows are martial, ranged weapons that shoot sharp arrows for long distances dealing 1d8 piercing damage on a hit and have the Ammunition, Heavy and Two-Handed properties. They have a normal range of 150 feet, and a long range of 600 feet.

Properties

Ammunition
You can use a weapon that has the ammunition property to make a ranged attack only if you have ammunition to fire from the weapon. Each time you attack with the weapon, you expend one piece of ammunition. Drawing the ammunition from a quiver, case, or other container is part of the attack (you need a free hand to load a one-handed weapon). At the end of the battle, you can recover half your expended ammunition by taking a minute to search the battlefield. If you use a weapon that has the ammunition property to make a melee attack, you treat the weapon as an improvised weapon.

Heavy
Small creatures have disadvantage on attack rolls with heavy weapons. A heavy weapon’s size and bulk make it too large for a Small creature to use effectively.

Two-Handed
This weapon requires two hands when you attack with it.

Superior Strike

Hail of Ammunition.
You let loose a devastating volley of ammunition at a point you choose within your weapon’s normal range. Each creature within a 10-foot-radius sphere centred on that point must make a Dexterity saving throw, taking piercing damage equalling a number of d6s equal to your proficiency bonus on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. You must have at least 10 pieces of ammunition you can draw for the weapon that you use to make this superior strike.
