Osseous Embrace

3-level Conjuration

Casting Time: 1 action
Range/Area: 60 feet
Components: V, S, M
Materials: a piece of bone or a pinch of grave dirt or bone dust
Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute
You choose a 5-foot-square unoccupied space on the ground within range to erupt with skeletal figures. A menagerie of skeletal figures arise and reach out toward one creature within 5 feet of that space. The target must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take 1d6 bludgeoning damage and 1d6 piercing damage and be restrained for the spell’s duration.   To break out, the restrained target can use its action to make a Dexterity check against your spell save DC. On a failure, the target takes 1d6 bludgeoning damage and 1d6 piercing damage. On a success, the target escapes and is no longer restrained.   As an action, you can cause the skeletal figures to reach for a different creature or to move to a different unoccupied space within range. The skeletal figures release any restrained target if you do either.    If a creature dies as a result of taking damage from this spell, you gain temporary hit points equal to the damage dealt.   A dispel evil and good spell ends this effect.
At higher levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the bludgeoning damage or the piercing damage (your choice) increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 2nd.
