A shield once wielded and maintained by Katla of Skye, a Shield Maiden. While holding this shield, you have a +2 bonus to AC. This bonus is in addition to the shield's normal bonus to AC.   It also has the ability to parry attacks: after a failed attack role for any close-combat by an enemy, a charge may be expended to perform an attack of opportunity. This is only from having spent a great deal of time with the shield and knowing how to use it in battle.   A shield is made from wood or metal and is carried in one hand. Wielding a shield increases your Armor Class by 2. You can benefit from only one shield at a time.

A basic round wooden shield, decorated with the three 4-pointed stars of the Norlands, painted in a rudimentary fashion.
