Xenoglossy

2-level Divination

Casting Time: 1 action
Range/Area: Touch
Components: Verbal
Duration: 1 hour
The magician and the creature ze touches gains the ability to speak a new language. This language sounds like random, babbling syllables to anyone not affected by the spell, but ze and the target can understand each other perfectly.   The magician and zis ally can read and write in this new language as well, with being similarly unintelligible to anyone else; however, once the spell ends, anything written becomes actual gibberish. If ze casts another xenoglossy spell with the same target, ze can each read the coded writing again. Comprehend languages does not help to understand spoken xenoglossy, though a creature using comprehend languages can attempt to decipher a written message with a successful DC 20 Intelligence (Investigation) check taking 1 minute.   A creature using tongues is aware that creatures using xenoglossy are speaking a magically altered language and can attempt an Intelligence saving throw to read or understand it. If the saving throw is failed, ze can try again after 1 minute.
At higher levels: When cast using a spell slot of 3rd level, ze can share zis xenoglossia with up to 10 allies for 1 hour, or with one ally for 24 hours.   If using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, ze can affect 10 additional creatures for 1 hour, or 10 allies for 24 hours.
