Originally a prohibitively heavy anti-tank cannon by Murata, the K-97 was converted into an Anti-Tank rifle through several weight-saving measures and a slight reduction in overall barrel length. The weapon was used in one of the prior wars between the Westlands and surrounding nations against medium-class tanks. It still fires a prohibitively large round but the shortened barrel reduces its muzzle energy enough that it may hit hard but it doesn't penetrate armor as well as it would if it were the full sized, previous design. It is sometimes mounted to vehicles on a swivel as a means of fighting other vehicles.
