Seismic Stomp

3-level Evocation

Casting Time 1 Action
Range Self (30 foot radius)
Duration 1 Minute
Components S

You stomp onto the ground, sending a wave through it and causing the earth to erupt with magma. Each creature other than you within a 30 foot radius from where you stand must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 3d8 fire damage and is knocked prone. On a successful save, a creature takes half as much damage and isn’t knocked prone.   The ground where the wave passed through remains scorched for the duration of the spell. Any creature that ends its turn inside that area takes an additional 2d8 fire damage as the intense heat overwhelms them.   As the effects of the spell end, the affected ground remains with tiny fissures and a marking of your foot is clearly imprinted into the floor.
