Mantis Blades - Nanite Modification

Augmentation, Modification, Finesse, Limiter   Mantis Blade can be customized. Those are the statistics for the nanite version that's designed to inflict necrotic damage. The nanite coating is sufficient to inflict the effect on the first successful hit. After that the effect will not take hold until the nanite coating is maintained again. If the user has two Mantis Blades, one per arm, then the frist two successful hits will aply the effect.   The nanite coating maintains itself while the blade is retracted. This takes a short rest.   A creature hit with this blade must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw. Regardless of the saving throw, a creature that is hit will start to necrotize. It takes 4d6 Necrotic damage at the start of its turn, the damage is halved if the saving throw was successful. On a successful initial saving throw any future saving throw against nanite Mantis Baldes will be made with advantage.   A creature that necrotizes through these nanites will have to make a Constitution saving throw of DC 15 to overcome the nanite infection. It can do so at the end of its turn. If it fails, the effect will persist until a maximum of 5 rounds or the saving throw was successful. Should the Constitution saving throw fail the creature will take 2d6 Necrotic damage.   This modification was designed to be the most effective on drawn out guerilla warfare.   See also: Mantis Blades   You can increase the damage output with: Override Limiter
