Industrialist

The times are changing. As mechanical technology spreads across the lands, polluting, empowering, reforming governments, and forcing people into cities, you were no passive observer. You took to learning everything you could about Industrialism, reading any books, talking to any industrialists you knew, and taking up posts at various industrial workshops to learn about the movement. In time, you became familiar with the ways of electricity, mechanical power, and dynamos. With your newfound knowledge, you took up a career of your own in the industrial sector, either creating your own factories, your own workshops for innovation, or working cooperatively with other industrialists.

Features

Variants

Criminal Kingpin

The criminal kingpin has used their understanding of industry and mechanics to subvert governments and gain wealth in a less-than-legal manner. Given their past, they have made a great many enemies and dubious allies in their time, but they always keeps their handy pistol in tow to fend off any unwanted company.   This variant begins with one (1) Colt Revolver and ten (10) bullets.

Variant Feature: An Offer They Can't Refuse

Whenever you have your gun equipped, you may choose to leverage your firearm in your business offers, bartering, intimidations, and other such relevant skill checks, and can roll with a +5 modifier. At level 10, this modifier changes to +10. Note: Some may not take kindly to being held at gunpoint.

Industrial Capitalist

The Industrial Capitalist sees the vast potential for profit in Industrialism, and desires to use it, within the confines of civil society, to benefit themselves as much as possible. They seek profit through constructing factories, innovating, etc. You have likely made many connections with other industrialists and nobles given your background.   This variant begins with one hundred and fifty (150) extra gold pieces (GP) and an arcane dynamo.

Variant Feature: Supply Chain Command

As an Industrial Capitalist, you know how supply chains work and can take advantage of the ones you know of. Whenever in an urban center or capitol, you can usually call upon your knowledge of supply chains to get access to any resource you may need. Roll a Mechanics (WIS) check. For common materials, DC of 10. For uncommon materials, DC of 15. For extremely rare materials, DC of 25. For unique, arcane, or magical materials, DC of 30. In addition, you likely know where the locations of nearby commercial centers are (i.e. blacksmiths, merchants, inventors, etc.).

Innovator

Some Industrialists are in it for only the discovery of new mechanical creations. The Innovator seeks to advance the technological and arcane knowledge of Eametora. Some are in it for power, developing new technology that outpowers any other industrialist in the world, but some are in it for selfless reasons, seeking only to benefit all beings in Eametora.   This variant begins with Chemist's Tools OR Tinkerer's Tools, and an arcane OR steam dynamo.

Variant Feature: Industrial Spark

As an Innovator, you have always had a drive for innovation. You can experiment using tinkerer's tools or chemist's tools to try to invent new mechanical, arcane, or chemical wonders, given you have the materials necessary. Consume the materials and roll Mechanics (WIS). Consult your DM to see the result. In addition, you have an advantage when rolling to fix mechanical machines and create mechanical objects at 2x speed when crafting them.

Suggested Characteristics

Industrialists are shaped by their experiences with technology, innovation, and mechanical power. Even if you were not the apprentice of a successful master of industry, you share similar characteristics with those who were, no doubt.
