An elven lore gem—or tel’kiira in Elvish—is a smooth, hemispherical gemstone that magically adheres to the forehead of its wearer. It can’t be removed by anyone but the wearer without removing the skin in contact with it. Lore gems can store a few hundred pages’ worth of knowledge, including up to 30 spells. They were once popular alternatives to bound spellbooks among elven wizards, as they are less easily damaged. When worn, they can serve as either a spellbook, a warlock’s ritual book, and a spellcasting focus. While information stored in the lore gem is being mentally accessed, it emits a
faint glow.

The wearer has advantage with Intelligence skill checks related to their own memories. Additionally, any required material costs for copying spells into a lore
gem are halved.
