A masterwork arcano-mechanical contraption, this crossbow is strung with adamantine wire and has a series of glass lenses that provide various levels of magnification. This crossbow does not have the reload property, and instead automatically manifests bolts of arcane force. These bolts deal force damage instead of the weapon's normal damage type. A creature using this crossbow can still manually load bolts of any type to use instead, if they so choose. When you do, the crossbow can hold up to 10 bolts at once before needing to reload.

Additionally, when you're using physical bolts instead of arcane force, you can fire up to 10 bolts at once as a burst fire. When you do, you can spray a 15-foot-cube area within normal range with shots. Each creature in the area must succeed on a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw or take the weapon’s normal damage. Bolts fired in this manner can't be recovered.
