Casting Time: 1 action or 1 reaction

Range/Area: 10"

Components: Verbal

Duration: 1 minute + concentration (if cast as an action) or immediate (if cast as a reaction)

The magician creates hundreds of tiny shields that circle the magician or a target within 10" adding 10d6 + proficiency bonus temporary hit points that specifically reduce either (chosen at time of casting):

bludgeoning, slashing or piercing damage; or
current day energy types (as per DMG)

If cast as a reaction, the temporary hit points immediately dissipate at the end of the round. If cast as an action, concentration is required to maintain the Protective Screen. If cast upon another target, the target must remain within 10" of the magician, otherwise the spell ends.

At higher levels: If cast at 7th level, temporary hit points increase to 10d8 + magician proficiency bonus

If cast at 9th level, temporary hit points increase to 10d10 + magician proficiency bonus

If cast at 10th level, temporary hit points increase to 10d12 + magician proficiency bonus
