Uncommon Requires Attunement

Upon receiving a melee attack, the user may use their reaction to call upon the powers of the targe to return an amount of damage equal to half of the damage received. This has no effect if the attack is ranged, misses, deals no damage, or if the damage source is magical or not physical in nature.

This gnarled and twisted buckler appears otherwise unremarkable aside from what looks like a large darkened gash across the front surrounded by small splinters of wood.
