High Elves

As a high elf, you have a keen mind and a basic mastery of spell casting magic. There are two types of High Elves, Sun and Moon. Sun elves are haughty and reclusive, believing themselves to be superior to non elves and even other elves. They typically have more bronzen skin, accompanying the typical human skin colour range with added hues of copper and gold. They have hair of copper, black, brown or golden blonde. Their eyes are golden, silver, black or red, some have described sun elves as radiating with golden light. Moon elves are more common and friendly but still rather distant and 'quiet, even amongst other elves', they still come across as reserved and with a slight superiority complex though. They typically have paler skin, sometimes described as 'leached of sunlight' with skin ranging from alabaster white to grey-blue. Darker skinned moon elves are rare but not unheard of; although their skin tends to be greyed. They often have silver-white, black or blue hair but various shades of blond brown and green are not uncommon. Their eyes are blue, green, silver or black; sometimes flecked with 'moonlight'.

High Elves as a whole are rarely seen outside of their shining citadels and towering forest kingdoms, often leaving the world and its other members to their own devices, rarely getting mixed in with their wars or disasters. However when they do, the high elves are a formidable fighting force, possessing both strong soldiers and powerful magic wielders, capable of laying waste to foes far greater in number. There are less high elves than there used to be, with numbers dwindling thanks to low birth rates and other issues within the high courts, though many refuse to acknowledge it. Most sun elves live in the Southern kingdoms of Virallia, in close proximity to Siridur and the Ignatum, being both related to fire and well known for their openness to Igneians. In general igneians and elves get along better than most but sun elves are not known for their hospitality. However they are fond of both the Ignatum and igneians, often forming lifelong friendships. Moon elves live in the North, with most of their population in Ifrendiel, Leluana and their neighboring countries. They are usually 'nocturnal' spending the day time meditating and sleeping, whilst spending their waking hours at night. The moon is revered by them; and they have a deeper connection with it then the sun elves with the sun. However they, unlike the Istari, still worship Undil as their main God, believing the moon to be secondary to her power and radiance. Perhaps this is why they have not received any blessings from the moon as the Istari have from the stars. Moon elves do venture out into the wilder world more than their counterparts but are still best encountered in their home countries and cities, where they are more relaxed and less likely to just ignore your existence.   Sun Elves live in large cities, often with magnificent stone architecture, complicated and beautiful enough to rival the dwarves. These cities are built so that the sun's rays filtrate and reflect on their entire city, with complicated structures and mirrors used for this to happen. This means they are quite warm and bright, leading to their clothes typically being light and airy, whilst still following the traditional long, flowing style famous amongst the elves. Sun elf fashion consists of complicated gowns using bright and warm colours, often decked with gold and copper, to allow light to reflect off them, adding to the glowing appearance. It also is used to show that they don't need to get their hands dirty in mundane jobs or battle in bloody wars.   Moon Elves live in high, treetop kingdoms, sometimes stretching out for miles and miles, across towering forests with trees so tall they block out the sun. Moonlight is filtered through the branches in magical beams to strike glowing white structures wrapped gracefully around the trunks and branches of the trees, connected with winding bridges and staircases. These passageways and buildings have a curved and natural style, representing the nature they are surrounded and held up by. Moon elf style is the classic elven dress-code, long dresses and tunics with painstakingly hand sown patterns on silks. Typically in white, blue and purple, they can be mistaken for Istari. (Imagine Lothlorien basically)
